Amy and Peter's slice of paradise was peaceful and relaxing. Amy and Peter are terrific hosts. The studio had allot of the amenities we needed. The small town of Hawi had a few good places to eat. We enjoyed KO pizza (open Fri-Mon) as mentioned by others, the Hawi Coffee Company (breakfast/lunch) and Gill's Lanai (Tues-Sat). About a 20 minute drive is nearby Kawaihae which has Cipriano's kitchen--delicious beakfast/lunch--delightful attentive owners, and also shave ice at Anuenue is a special treat! Takata's market and the Saturday morning Hawi Famer's Market were great resources for groceries. We did make a couple of trips to Walmart and found the prices quite reasonable. Mahukona Beach Park is a quiet place for snorkeling and swimming or just relaxing by the water.. only 5-7 minute drive. Our month in Hawi was delightful and went by quickly! We would love to return some time!

This location was great! We were so close to food and good hiking/snorkeling in the morning. The hosts were very responsive and helpful, and they had the cutest pet piglet roaming around the area that we got to say hi to. The room was clean and quiet at night, and we appreciated being able to use the washer/dryer!

We loved our 5-day stay in Chiya’s home. There are many special superlatives to describe one of the nicest Airbnb’s Hawi area – - a beautiful Ohia Hale, well-furnished kitchen, comfy beds, private, unique sliding doors to a lovely garden and nice landscaping. There are great views of the ocean from the kitchen, bedroom and lanai. Best of all is meeting the nicest Hosts you will find on the Big Island with a fascinating life story. Moreover, Chiya’s provided us with timely directions, instructions to arrive easily and provides a binder in. her place with information about the area. We certain hope to return in the future.

Michael’s place was our home for a month & provided an excellent set up to explore the communities of Hawi and Kapa’au. He was an excellent host and communicator & an all around wonderful person. We were staying in the downstairs unit which was a studio setup with a very comfortable queen bed & a sliding glass door to the outdoors. We borrowed a little table & chairs from the laundry room to create a patio sitting area for us. The bathroom was large with excellent hot water in the shower. The kitchen refrigerator was full sized & the kitchen was fully stocked w/ everything we needed to prepare meals. Michael arranged for a mid-stay clean which we appreciated. Ultimately we were very comfortable for our month in Hawi and would love to stay there again, just be aware that this is the downstairs unit and if the upper unit is rented you will likely hear them.
