Stunning Luxury Oceanview Condo

ChrisRating, 5 stars4 days ago
John's place was just what we were looking for. The location was perfect and the beach access was wonderful. The condo had everything we needed. There are county pickleball courts between building D and the beach, but be prepared to double up with expert players in early mornings. Afternoons can be quite windy (gusty) at this location. There are plenty of beach chairs at the pool, but more umbrellas are needed imo. Overall a wonderful expereince.

Ocean view studio. 1k ft from water!June $149 m-th

It's in a convenient location and across from the beach. If you don't like noisy areas, this probably isn't for you. But we enjoyed it and being close to the street/beach for in&out access throughout our trip.

OCEAN Front! Walk to the Beach! Private & Gated!

RoyRating, 5 stars14 months ago
Kevin was a great host unfortunately the Lehiana fire disaster forced us out after 3 days of our week stay and Puamana resort community is currently decimated. Kevin graciously offer to do what he could to return our abandoned personal item when and if he could get access to the unit which was a pretty big offer given the circumstances and his personal and family losses. We did manage to retrieve our belongings ourselves and then donated just about everything back into a local relief effort gathering such items for those who had lost everything. In the hopes that the owner or Airbnb is insured for such things we have applied for partial refund under Airbnb disaster circumstances refund policy and plan to get it into the hands of the most impacted. I'll be looking to rent properties hosted by Kevin in the future, when the community recovers from this tragedy and travel is resumed. Kevin's earned my loyalty as a host and that's the highest rating I can give.

Heatherā€™s place was perfect. Beautiful ocean view and swimming with turtles right out front. Large kitchen and balcony, comfortable beds, AC, and fully stocked with anything you need for the beach. Walkable to some great food, a nice park, and a short drive to many beaches. We hope to visit again in the future and would love to stay here again!

Relaxing in Maui on Oceanfront View

JeffreyRating, 5 stars3 weeks ago
Absolutely loved the condo. Waking up in the morning with the sun shining onto the lanai. The sound of the waves crashing. My wife was turtle crazy with all the sea turtles she got to see. There was even a monk seal that was hanging out around the building and would come up on the grass. They are endangered so donā€™t get too close. I feel like maybe we were there at a slow time of year as theyā€™re didnā€™t seem to be a lot of people which was great for us. šŸ˜. Had the pool all to ourselves our last day. Our First time in Maui but to me the condo seemed to be in a central location so we could get to the Lahaina area just as quickly as the Wailea and Kahului area. It is Right next to the harbor so we could easily walk to our snorkeling and dinner cruise excursions. Bill was very helpful and responsive when needed. I highly recommend this place and would definitely stay again. Rent a small car though as underground parking is a bit tight if you have a larger vehicle. šŸ˜

Your guide to Wailea-Makena

All About Wailea-Mākena

Located on the southern shore of the Hawaiian island of Maui, Wailea is a resort area famous for its white-sand beaches, sprawling golf courses, and relaxing spas. Wailea-Mākena provides a great base for visiting southern Mauiā€™s sandy shores, such as the nearby Wailea Beach, which is just a short walk from town, or Mākena Beach, where you can go for a refreshing swim or explore the pristine coastline by paddleboard or kayak.

You can also find many interesting natural attractions nearby, such as La Perouse Bay or Ahihi-Kinau Natural Area Reserve, which is teeming with marine life. Take a break from the sun and water by visiting the Shops at Wailea, a complex that features 70 retail stores ā€” art galleries, boutiques selling Hawaiian shirts and water-sports gear ā€”and restaurants serving creative takes on local mahi mahi and deep-water ahi tuna.

The best time to stay in a vacation rental in Wailea-Makena

Thanks to Mauiā€™s consistent heat all year round, this is a great place to visit at any time. During the summer, the days are long, hot, and sometimes muggy, which is why many travelers cool off in the crystal-clear water found on Mauiā€™s beaches.

During the spring and fall, the crowds thin out, making this a great time to visit if you want to have the beaches and hiking trails all to yourself. While the clouds gather overhead more frequently in the winter and the region sees a higher amount of rain, the warm weather remains, and showers are generally quick to come and go. Winter is also the best time to visit if youā€™re interested in whale watching or driving along Mauiā€™s Road to Hana, a winding road famous for its waterfall hikes and lush greenery.

Top things to do in Wailea-Makena

Mākena State Park

Mākena Beach State Park, on the south side of town, is home to one of the largest undeveloped beaches on Maui. This stretch of shoreline, commonly referred to as ā€œBig Beach,ā€ features glistening white sand and cerulean waters surrounded by native kiawe forests and mango groves. Wander inland and you can hike up the 360-foot-tall Puā€™u Olai, a dormant volcanic cinder cone, where you can survey the coastline from on high.

Ahihi-Kinau Natural Area Reserve

Located less than a 10-minute drive from Mākena State Park, this marine reserve offers one of the areaā€™s best snorkeling spots. The ocean floor is covered by a coastal lava field intermixed with coral, making it a popular home for many different species of tropical fish, including butterfly fish, parrotfish, surgeonfish, and turtles. At the reserve, you can snorkel directly from the shoreline.

La Perouse Bay

Just 20 minutes south of Wailea-Mākena, La Perouse Bay is outlined by lush green vegetation and jagged lava rock formations, created when the now-dormant Haleakalā Volcano last erupted in 1790. Now the blackened lava rocks shelter numerous tide pools. If youā€™d like to peer in at the marine creatures living there, bring shoes with thick soles, as lava rock has many sharp edges.
