I love how this condo is located right on the beach. The view of the water was amazing. The pool/hot tub and the snorkel/beach equipment rental on site were very convenient.

Ocean view studio. 1k ft from water!June $149 m-th

KatelynRating, 5 stars1 week ago
It's in a convenient location and across from the beach. If you don't like noisy areas, this probably isn't for you. But we enjoyed it and being close to the street/beach for in&out access throughout our trip.

Spectacular Ocean Front 1bd at Menehune Shores

MikeRating, 5 stars1 week ago
Robert was a great host. Sent us multiple messages checking in on us. We had no issues so not much to say, but that's a good thing! The property is as described, feeling new inside with tile floors, excellent AC, and a spectacular view of the bay. I personally like being up at the palm frond level in tropical locales and this is exactly what we saw here. Bed was one of the more comfortable I've had in a BnB. I believe it is memory foam, firm but relaxes upon laying down. Rollout from the couch was generic foam but worked fine for our teenager. As an older adult, I wouldn't have liked it. Most couch roll outs are like this, so no surprise there. Balcony has a table and chairs for outside living. Host provides a pair of beach chairs saving a rental with towels, umbrella, cooler, but no beach "toys" like snorkeling gear, balls, noodles etc. Two TV's for streaming when you're stuck inside. Facility is really nice too! All in all, I will definitely try to stay here again in the future.

☼ Stylish & Bright 2bd Oceanfront Condo | 5★ Views

ErinRating, 5 stars1 week ago
This is hands down our new favorite place to stay on Maui! The location is perfect, right across from the beach but close enough for a short drive to coffee and nourishment. You can easily drive to all parts of the island from this location. The space itself was so comfortable for our our family of three - complete with a beachfront view, massage chair, air conditioning, and everything we could need in the kitchen. The neighborhood was quiet and peaceful. Last but not least, the hosts were incredibly friendly and responsive. We can't wait to stay here again next time!

Direct Oceanfront on Maui's Finest Sugar Beach!

SariRating, 5 stars1 month ago
This airbnb was located in a fairly quiet spot but a short drive from numerous shops and restaurants. Directly across the street is an abc store for necessities and a great bakery and some shaved ice not to be missed! The airbnb was clean and charming and having the beach to walk was lovely but the views from the lanai were what we really came for-the added bonus was not only a high table to dine on outside but also the comfortable chairs to relax on while enjoying the view.

MarisolRating, 5 stars3 weeks ago
If anything, the pictures do not adequately capture the beauty of the view out of the balcony. We enjoyed spectacular sunsets and stargazing on clear nights. The kitchen was nice and updated. Convenient to have cooler, chairs, and umbrella for use. We really enjoyed our stay here.

Cajudoy's Hale - STKM 2O13-OO18/TA-081-709-8752-01

JohnRating, 5 stars1 month ago
We really enjoyed staying here during a recent trip to Maui. The house is centrally located in Kihei, which allowed us to walk to a nearby grocery store and many restaurants and food trucks. There is an incredible amount of space in the house, and our party of five stayed comfortably. We felt that the house was a much better option than the many condos listed on Airbnb for about the same price.

South Maui Guesthouse

ericRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
Great place and no regret, Peter provides all beach gear so we do not have to worry about chairs, umbrellas, towels, and snorkeling equipment. And the place is private and close to nice beaches and excellent golf courses which is fantastic for us as we are golfers who have gone there for the beaches and golf. Peter was not there for us but he had a stand-in and his name is Jim who was there from Canada to look after the place while Peter was away. Jim was great and helped me, out of no obligation, to contact the rental company for my lost backpack, using a Canadian number and that would have cost him some money. A great guy.

Stunning ocean view, heated pool at home by Wailea

AnnaRating, 5 stars1 week ago
Sandra’s Airbnb was an absolute dream and even better in person. Her property and swimming pool are beautiful. We had the opportunity to meet Sandra, and she was lovely. The space is private with plenty of conveniences that made staying with a toddler much easier – pack n play, highchair, bath toys, pool toys and swim floatie, beach chairs and an umbrella, and even a bin of toys for her to play with indoors. Plus having a kitchen with necessities was very helpful. It was nice and clean, and the AC was great too. We were in Maui for a wedding at Gather on Maui in Wailea and it was less than a 10-minute drive away. The location was perfect. We had the peacefulness and privacy of staying at an Airbnb but also plenty of access to gorgeous beaches, good restaurants and resorts just a quick drive away. Seeing the ocean from the patio every morning was a major bonus. I highly recommend Sandra’s place. The whole family loved it.

My Maui Beach Condo #3318

MonicaRating, 5 stars5 months ago
We loved our stay at Mae’s. There are 3 pools in the community but it is also a 5 minute walk to the beach. Mae has plenty of beach equipment to use as well as tennis rackets and grill equipment. The apartment is a short walk to local bars and restaurants and also very quiet and felt very private. The kitchen had everything you would need for cooking and the bathroom had full sized body wash and shampoo which was a real treat. Definitely would stay here again when we return to Kihei!

Kaanapali Shores - SUPER CLEAN! OceanView 1bd/1ba

CherylRating, 5 stars5 days ago
Kelly’s place was perfect for our trip! The resort grounds are beautiful, the beach was great, easy access to everything. Do note: the room sits in the 3rd floor right above a parking lot where a lot of large trucks are backing up and quite a bit of traffic so it is pretty noisy. It’s where the laundry is picked up (big carts full of towels anyway). We knew this from the photos so she represented it fine and we were expecting it, but just wanted to note in case this was a deciding factor. It put the room at the price point we needed for our trip so that was great for us. Kelly was very accommodating and the room included beach chairs, towels, tennis/pickleball equipment so that as nice! Thank you Kelly for a wonderful stay!

Luxury 3bdrm 3bth w/7 Beds Bunk Beds FULL AC Kihei

EmmieRating, 5 stars1 week ago
We loved the pool facilities, and how close it was to the beach. Loved each room having its own dedicated bathroom, the place was extremely well stocked with everything we’d need and Rebecca went above and beyond with communication! Would 100% recommend. Only caution I would say is the dedicated parking space is quite small and I don’t know if you’d get a large SUV into it, but that’s not a knock against Rebecca, just a caution when renting vehicles!

Stylish Maui Condo Maui Vista

AliciaRating, 5 stars1 week ago
We had a great stay in Maui at Lori’s place! The accommodations or updated and beautiful. There were plenty of towels and toiletries in case we forgot something. The kitchen was stocked with anything you could want (we mostly just used the fridge.). There were beach chairs and towels. The amenities were great with the pools/tennis courts. The location was right in the heart of Kihei! We could walk just about anywhere. The two things that might be helpful to know, is that the bed was a little soft for our us, and the AC is just in the bedroom. We knew about the AC, but didn’t realize how hot it would still be in October. It wasn’t a big deal for us because we were out adventuring during the daytime.😊 The beaches are amazing and we swam with big turtles on the beach across street. Overall amazing place, highly recommend. We would go back in a heartbeat. 💓

Your guide to Kihei

Introduction

Blessed with six miles of coastline, the beachfront town of Kihei is located in one of the driest and sunniest sections of Maui. It’s a beach lovers’ destination where once-in-a-lifetime sunsets seem to happen daily, affordable shopping and dining options are numerous, and condo rentals are near safe, swimmable beaches like Kamaole Beach Park III that invite underwater exploration with just a mask and snorkel. Kihei is also central to many of the island’s more popular destinations, such as ʻIao Valley, Lahaina, and Maui’s North Shore. Unlike the highly developed and resort-laden Kāʻanapali, Kihei retains a laid-back dose of local flavor, including roadside food stands, farmers’ markets, and families selling homemade wares.

The best time to stay in a vacation rental in Kihei

Like all of the Hawaiian Islands, Maui is both blessed with pleasantly warm weather year-round as well as a variety of microclimates capable of delivering sun, drizzle, and sometimes a deluge of rain in a matter of minutes. The South Shore, Kahului, Kihei, Wailea, and Makena are drier, while the northern end of the island, from Kaanapali toward Kapalua, deliver a greater chance of rain. Pack for daytime temperatures in the mid-70s to mid-80s Fahrenheit, with evening temperatures usually falling between the mid-60s and low 70s across the island.

The only destination warranting special attention is the Haleakalā Visitor Center, situated 9,740 feet atop Haleakalā National Park, where temperatures can drop into the 40s or lower and wind is likely.

Top things to do in Kihei

Road to Hana

If you’re a fan of scenic road trips, this winding 10-hour, 64-mile journey defines “unforgettable,” delivering around 600 hairpin turns, 60 bridges (many one-way), and countless waterfalls along the way. Most visitors will stop in the quaint town of Hana before turning back, but if weather permits, you can take the road less traveled for another 44 miles to complete the entire loop, where the Pools at 'Ohe'o in Haleakalā National Park and the young lava fields of Haleakalā await.

Humpback Whale Watching

If you’re planning to visit Maui between November and May, there’s a good chance you’ll spot North Pacific humpback whales migrating offshore. Whale-watching tours depart from the harbors of Lahaina and Maʻalaea. Those who prefer to stay on land can watch the whales from Maʻalaea Bay. Just remember to bring binoculars for optimal viewing.

Haleakalā Crater

Even if you don’t wake up early enough to watch the sunrise from this spectacular 1 million-year-old, 10,000-foot summit, the 2-hour drive up the mountain from the base of Haleakalā National Park can offer a dramatic four-seasons-in-one-day adventure. Just be sure to bring a jacket or sweatshirt, as high winds and 40-degree Fahrenheit temperatures are not uncommon.
