Two summers ago, I stayed at El's place for two weeks; two years later, I stayed for six. The math says it all, I suspect, but in case it doesn't: El's Loft isn't just a home, it's a haven. On first entering, you're struck by the utter peace of it: quiet apart from the lush river running alongside. That calm is reinforced by a decor that is at once eclectic and uncluttered. Spaces are airy yet have a palpable designation: from corner nook with morning light (perfect for breakfast contemplation) to evening niche for reading, lighted 19th-century style by pellet stove. The kitchen is sumptuous, and like every space here proves El has thought of it before it occurs to you: spices, cooking implements, coffee accessed by espresso maker or percolator, a pantry of staples. It's a sanctuary ideal for artful remove but close to downtown and therefore perfect when seeking village rewards. Really, there's no "R" you can't do here--rest, reset, revive--apart from maybe remain forever.

Great stay! Very peaceful and private has all of the amenities you could need. Cozy even for a family of five with three kids all under four years of age.

Kathy's lemon drop is a wonderful little place! we only stayed one night, but could easily have been comfortable for much longer -- it's very homey and has a beautiful view of the woods. The space has been very thoughtfully prepared, with sweet details like a tea selection. Thank you so much!
