The Glebe

BrittaRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
We so enjoyed our stay at The Glebe! We were two families with young children and felt right at home. The lay out was perfect for us, and the house had plenty of kid-friendly items. The view is spectacular, can't beat the screened in porch. We loved walking down the dock at sunrise. The sandy beach was perfect!

LyndsyRating, 5 stars3 weeks ago
Our stay was amazing! We brought so much but this place offers almost everything you need. Kitchen was fully stocked with more than enough , bathrooms clean and well stocked, they even thought to put a basket together with blankets for sitting on the porch those cold evenings. The king bed was most comfortable. More than enough living space and great for a girls get away. We didn’t leave 1 time! The dock was fully stocked with toys to enjoy. Paddle boat paddle boards life vests etc. I would 100 % book here again!

TDF Retreat on Kerr Lake

BillRating, 5 stars2 days ago
Patricia's home was very clean, and the neighborhood was very peaceful. We immediately felt right at home. We also had our two fur babies with us, and they had a ball, too. They enjoyed the lake and all of the wildlife. The deer sightings were amazing!!! We took some great pictures of the deer with the lake in the background. Gorgeous views!! Patricia and Charles were very responsive, and we highly recommend their home to anyone looking for a home away from home.

Tranquil River Home

LaurenRating, 5 stars2 months ago
What an absolutely lovely place to stay - if you're looking for relaxation, amazing views, access to water and just generally enjoying nature then this is the place for you. The home is very spacious and would be great for family or friends. Bonus, the property is fenced in and very dog friendly, my dog had a blast sniffing around the yard and sunning himself on the deck. Highly recommend!

Lakehome with HotTub Fireplace Theater & Game Room

BonnieRating, 5 stars1 day ago
We had such a wonderful time here! It was the perfect place to stay with friends and to rest after our hiking each day. We came down to do the Triple Crown, and after our hikes each day this beautiful home gave us the rest and relaxation that we wanted and needed. Close enough that we were able to commute back-and-forth to our trails and even sneak in a visit to my daughter at Liberty! We loved the beautiful lake and enjoyed taking the kayaks out one afternoon. It really did feel like our home away from home while we there and had absolutely everything that we needed for an enjoyable stay!

Beach Please! River cottage w/private beach & dock

HildaRating, 5 stars3 weeks ago
I stayed here with my mom, brother, and cousins after a busy wedding in Charlottesville. We couldn't have asked for a better place to unwind and connect before heading back to our respective states. The property is gorgeous and peaceful! Sunrises are stunning. We heard songbirds and caught sight of eagles and ospreys several times. My brother paddled a kayak several times a day. Others played games and read. All of us enjoyed the back porch and hot tub. We enjoyed home-cooked meals every day. The marsh grasses edging the beach and yard are lovely to watch in the wind. Do bring citronella or other bug deterrent as there were some bugs, though we imagine not as many as there might be in hotter humid summer weather. Mysteriously, there were mostly fruit flies. Still, this is an incredibly beautiful property that I would highly recommend.

Crabtree Falls Mountain Hollow Guesthouse

DinnaRating, 5 stars4 days ago
We arrived late on our first night in the dark and missed our turn a couple of times, making me and the 3 kids a bit nervous thinking we were never going to find it. It felt more dramatic than it really was! Once we got to the warm and inviting cabin, we fell in love with its cozy, rustic quality. It had everything we needed. And when we woke up the following morning, we heard the bubbling creek and saw the gorgeous scenery in all its glory. Hiked that day at Crabtree Falls which is very close by. It was a pleasure to speak with Beverly who gave us the short cut to Devil's Backbone. We also met her cute dogs and of course the kids had already met the goats. This is one of the prettiest times of the year in Virginia and we are so glad we spent it here at Beverly's. Thank you very much!

The Guest House

RichardRating, 5 stars12 months ago
We were in Clifton Forge for Uncle's 90th birthday--which happened to turn out to coincide with fall leaf changing season. We tried several other apps for hotels, bed & breakfasts, and were pleased with location of apartment not only in regards to where our uncle lived, but the downtown activities, art studios, and restaurants. Also, very nice for finding places to walk or run, whether you wanted to do the hills or stay in the flatlands along the river and train tracks. Turns out Shauna knew one of the cousins who lived and worked in town. We were also pleased with some of the extras like organic cream, eggs, and a variety of teas, coffees, and single service protein bars, cookies, oatmeal, and Halloween candy.

Large apartment w private pool / availability.

BrandonRating, 5 stars3 weeks ago
The space we had was plenty big for my wife and I. There was a very nice view out the bedroom window looking out at the nicely landscaped yard/pool and beyond that was some nice grassland with a couple of new homes being built as well. Jane was very helpful when we needed something. The space was very clean. The kitchen was well stocked with essentials. Would stay again!

Lake Serenity Patio Apartment

KarinRating, 5 stars1 month ago
This was our first ever Airbnb experience and we were extremely pleased. We were running late on our arrival day & would not arrive until after dark - Pamela was nice enough to "leave the light on" so that we would not arrive to total darkness. We had plenty of space to relax and the unit was stocked with everything we needed. My kids enjoyed the walk down tot he lake the next day while we enjoyed coffee of the patio enjoying the mountain views. This trip was chock full of activities with our daughter who is college in the area, but we will definitely plan another trip back when we can spend some additional quite time enjoying the area.

Peaceful beach @Courtyard Cottage+No Cleaning Fee!

HelenRating, 5 stars1 week ago
My husband and I had the pleasure of staying at the Peaceful Beach @ Courtyard Cottage for 3 nights. Our first impression was very positive. It was spacious, smelled clean and beautifully decorated. We were impressed that they not only had a gift bag of local treats waiting for us but a toy for our dog as well. The highway out front is very busy but we didn't notice the traffic inside the house. We were blessed with beautiful warm weather and enjoyed the quiet sandy path to the beach with no roads to cross. Because we are NOT tech savvy, we were overwhelmed with extensive TV system with 6 remotes but one call to Richard got us straight. We definitely hope to come back with our Son and his family next summer.

Absolutely beautiful place to stay. Taby was a lovely host and has the most amazing spot. Felt right at home and loved our evening spent canoeing on the lake and chilling by the firepit. Only issue was that we didn’t stay long enough! Would love to visit again.

New River Trail Cottage

ClaireRating, 5 stars1 month ago
My husband was celebrating a milestone birthday. He asked me to make sure it had: 1) Hiking trails 2) A visit to our granddaughter at Radford and 3) Plenty of room to relax with family in a peaceful place. New River Trail Cottage checked every box and more. It was truly the perfect spot for the whole family to enjoy a getaway together. The front end was a bit dicey as Hurricane Helene hit (the river flooded the entry road), but our hosts kept us at ease with lots of communication texts and calm. The house is directly across the street from the New River up on a hill, so we did not get a single drop of water. We had our meals offsite but spent each of 3 mornings and evenings relaxing out on the comfy front porch. Once the trails were cleared, we had beautiful hikes and felt refreshed. Everyone agreed we'd like to return. Due to the muddy roads, we did not get a chance to use the bikes. And due to the high water level, we opted out of kayaks this trip. We definitely plan to go back!

The Boat House

RollinRating, 5 stars1 month ago
We stayed during a once in a lifetime storm. The river raised 15 to 20 foot in a little more than a 24 hour period. Jennifer because of the power outage at her house went down to her nearby grocery store with better reception to call to check on us and work on a small problem. The neighbors helped one another and offered help to us during the storm's effects even with many of them sustaining damage to their property and belongings. Which also brings me back to Jennifer, even while sustaining damage to her properties and having power outage she made that call to check on us. The storm didn't stop us from having a relaxing stay, seeing MANY deer, and viewing one incredibly beautiful area. Only thing I regret is we only booked the Boat House for 3 nights. Go and enjoy yourselves!

TooFine Lakehouse, pet friendly waterfront cottage

AprilRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
If you are looking for a quiet getaway, this is the place! Cute and clean-living space, right on the lake, screened in porch with heater, grill, relaxing front porch and just perfect! We loved being able to get away from everything but also being able to drive into Williamsburg for activities and dining out. We only stayed two nights, so we did not cook but the house has everything you need to cook inside or outside. My husband and daughter enjoyed going out on the canoe and I loved reading a book on the front porch. The host truly thought of everything and has so many special touches. You'll love it. Keep in mind that it is about 30 minutes to Colonial Williamsburg, Busch Gardens, etc. so plan accordingly.

Historic Ware River Cottage at Glebefield

NickRating, 5 stars6 days ago
Sherri’s cottage truly is a gem. We came to the area to explore the history so living in a restored cottage like this was a real treat. She did an excellent job making it a comfortable, cozy space. A few details to consider for future stays: - The cottage faces another home on the property. Everyone respected each other’s privacy, but that’s hard to tell from the photos. - The garden pictured is attached to the barn just down the path, not the cottage (it’s still lovely) - if you are traveling with dogs like us, the stairs are original to the cottage and a bit steep; similarly the bed is very tall This did not stop us from enjoying all the charms of the property, including watching the sunset from the dock. It’s a beautiful and peaceful place.

Newly Renovated 2BR Waterfront Cottage with Dock

ChrisRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
Book it! Owners have thought of everything! Outdoor space is amazing. Loved the water toys! House is immaculate and very well stocked with everything you could need and more. We appreciated thoughtful touches like nice bath and beach towels, extra TP, wall hooks, plenty of games and books, emergency lights, strong WiFi, throw blankets… We would definitely book again. We liked the pizza from the nearby restaurant but would skip their seafood next time.
