Hog Mt Retreat by Buffalo Mountain Getaway

SusanRating, 5 stars1 month ago
our stay at Hog Mountain Retreat was eventful and relaxing at the same time. we were there Thursday night and Friday during Hurricane Helene and experienced very high winds and heavy rain. we were amazed that the lights blinked but we never lost power so we enjoyed a movie day, something we dont get to do often. Stopped Friday about 3:00 so we went out for a while and had all day Saturday. went to Floyd, cute little town but the power was out but enjoyed it anyway. The cabin itself was great. So cute and had all we needed. Very peaceful, enjoyed the porch overlooking the pond. Met the neighbor in front of us and she was so sweet and made some suggestions for us. Husband fished a kittle in the pond but no luck. We absolutely enjoyed our stay and this is one place I would probably go again. Unfortunately we missed the leaves, a little change but not quite ready yet. Highly recommend Hog Mountain Retreat.

Hardpan Cottage

CaitRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
This tiny cabin in the hills of Ivy, Virginia was very cozy and very inviting! It is only a short drive from Monticello and Carter's Orchard, among other outstanding attractions. It is also just down the road from the Lewis family cemetery where the family of Meriwether Lewis (of Lewis and Clark fame) is buried. Would definitely stay again!

Jen’s place is absolutely lovely! We are so glad that we stayed here. The guest house was spacious and full of amenities. The location was perfect as the property is secluded and peaceful, but situated close to an entrance to Shenandoah National Park and near many other attractions. We especially appreciated the local recommendations Jen provided to us, they were great! Overall we really enjoyed everything here and I cannot recommend this lovely spot enough.

This was a really nice and clean place to stay. It was nicely appointed with all the amenities that were mentioned in the description. We were busy visiting Shenandoah National park all the days we were there and Nick's place was very convenient for us to do so. We were greeted by the dog she was so sweet! This place is just a short drive to Harrisonburg and all the amenities it offers. We will definitely stay here again when were in the area. Thanks Nick!

Beaver Pond Farm - Near Charlottesville

MirandaRating, 5 stars5 days ago
Me and my fiancé stayed here because we were seeing a concert in Charlottesville and wanted a place to stay the night. Being homecoming weekend our options were limited but this looked like a good place to stay with our options. I must say this place was so much better than we could’ve hoped for! The listing truly doesn’t do it justice. It is so homey and adorable!! Our only complaint was that we couldn’t stay longer :)

Waterfront Cottage Retreat with Hot Tub

TaraRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
We absolutely loved our stay here! The weather was perfect (early October) and the property is amazing. Our dog was obsessed with the creek, and the guest house has enough distance from the main house to where we felt private. There’s not much to do in town, but we picked up bagels one morning and the grocery stores had what we needed to cook. We booked this trip to relax, and that’s what we did! We mostly hung out by the creek, which is beautiful, and in the yard. The house itself is a unique layout that allows for privacy yet tons of natural light, which we loved. We relaxed in the living room with the fireplace on, cooked a few meals in the kitchen, and napped on the daybed. The tile floor in the exterior part of the house was great for wiping our dog’s paws off after he went outside. We only used the king size bedroom. Bed was comfortable and room didn’t feel cramped. Hosts were friendly and responsive and even offered some local spots to hit up. Would 100% return!

Cozy cottage nestled on 8 acres with mountain view

AndrewRating, 5 stars4 days ago
Paula and Brent were great hosts! Very friendly and personable! The cottage is right next to their family farm where the horse stalls are. Brent was nice enough to include us when he was feeding the horses. They are beautiful! A very peaceful slice of paradise and minutes from all of the services and amenities of town. Great spot only 30 minutes away from Luray Caverns. Very quiet and cozy! If you are over 5'8" or 190ish cm, then I would be aware that the upstairs ceiling is on the shorter side and the steps leading upstairs are quite steep. Perfect for our visit though! Thanks for a great stay!

A Place of Peace

ElizabethRating, 5 stars5 days ago
APOP is genuinely a fitting title for this location. We stayed for five days and appreciated all the amenities, including the washer and dryer. Mic met us as Kat and Mike were away; he was kind enough to greet and accommodate us. We had a very busy schedule, but we met Kat as we were leaving. She was a pleasure and had such a sweet spirit. I highly recommend APOP if you need a relaxing, refreshing location for your stay.

The Cottage at Dunthorpe Farm

LaurenRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
We loved our stay at the cottage. Gorgeous scenery. Private, quiet, and relaxing. We had a girls weekend there and had plenty of room in the cottage. We enjoyed using the fire pit for s’mores. Philip was nice enough to help us start the fire and gave us supplies. Lots to do in the area! About 10-15 minutes away from the town of Purcellville. In town, we enjoyed the pinball arcade, antique stores, and axe throwing bar! I would definitely stay at the cottage again. Kelly and Phillip were so friendly, kind, and helpful. They responded to us quickly when we requested additional bed sheets and towels. Lovely hosts and a lovely cottage!
