The Chick's Roost was by far one of the most peaceful and convenient places we have ever stayed at. The surrounding area is so peaceful and quiet, located in the woods. Less than an hour from downtown Traverse City, it is perfectly located. The host literally has thought of what would be needed to live there, as that is how it came to be. The couple used it as a place to stay while building their home on the property. We will definitely be back soon.

I had an amazing stay at Kenneth's place! He was incredibly accommodating and helpful throughout my visit. The home was clean, comfortable, and had all the amenities I needed. Kenneth went above and beyond to ensure I had a great experience, providing local tips and being available for any questions. I highly recommend staying here and would definitely come back. Five stars!

Loved our stay here! Easy to find, the directions Roger gives makes it super easy to locate the site, however I was there when it poured and I recommend at least taking an AWD vehicle as it is very sandy when dry or muddy when wet. The campsite was quiet and private, there is a porta potty which was convenient! Located about 30 minutes from traverse City and about an hour from Leland. Location was perfect if you can’t find a campground with availability. There is a nice charcoal grill that we used, as well as a campfire and picnic table! I’d recommend bringing tennis shoes to wear at the campsite though due to the sand but it’s really not that bad! We were able to bring our two dogs and they loved the campsite as well!Roger was responsive and kind. Overall it was a great stay, would highly recommend for the price!
