A Kentucky Cottage by Mammoth Cave

This was just a magical little place. My husband and I and our two teens all loved it. We only stayed two nights but spent them both by the outdoor fireplace, and I spent the mornings reading on the porch swings. We loved the pond with its bullfrogs and teeny tadpoles. The house is charmingly decorated and landscaped, and there are lots of thoughtful touches, like park maps, area guides, and bug spray (which we didn’t need in mid-April but I’m sure will be helpful later in the year). The bed linens were nice and bath towels were super soft and fluffy. The kitchen had everything we needed. The location is very close to the entrance to Mammoth Cave National Park - I think it took us about 10-15 minutes to reach the Visitors Center. We will absolutely stay again if we’re in the area!!

I absolutely loved my stay in the cabins! We had a large group of 40+ and our needs were accommodated perfectly. The beautiful surroundings and trails were a great opportunity for group bonding. I HIGHLY recommend David and Dagmar’s cabin to groups both big and small.

The Plaid Peacock was the best gift I have ever given myself for Christmas. Out of town family members stayed five days there and never felt the least bit slighted. How could they? It is a Ritz Carlton on the square. The Wagners need to be applauded for spending that amount of money for the improvement of overnight accommodations We’ll use it again. The cave retreat was a nice comfortable place for us to stay while exploring Mammoth cave and the surrounding area. We were about 10-15 minutes from the visitor center, hiking trails, bike trails, and other activities like hiking. We really enjoyed the backyard including the fire pit. The house was well stocked and very comfortable. We highly recommend!

Everything was great: working with the Wayne, communications, accommodations, space. Good value for the cost! There were a few ants in the kitchen around the sink Overall, I would definitely rent this property again in the future.

A very peaceful cabin! Was a great place to stay for our travels. Loved the hot tub! James was very proactive in informing us about the recent nationwide flooding that affected the outdoor space, so we didn’t get to use the fire pit but it was still a great space for our needs. It was an amazing cabin and we would definitely stay here again!

I stayed here last year with a friend. This year my wife and I stayed here. It is very remote, so bring food and drinks. The house was very clean and as advertised. The host was very responsive to our questions. The nearest place to eat (that we found) is about 25 minutes away in Lewisburg. Russellville is about 35 minutes away. Bowling Green was about 45 minutes away.

This home was a great getaway! Beautiful patio with a great view and peaceful neighborhood. I used apple maps to get there and it does drop you a few houses before the actual cabin but if you keep going down the road the driveway is marked well and easy to find. Jerry and Loie were quick to respond with any need while our stay! They do only have direct tv so if you are a tv watcher bring your own fire stick or roku stick for streaming! The hot tub was very clean, nice and toasty for the chilly days! I definitely recommend this home if you are looking to get away from the hustle of bigger cities!
