We loved our stay here! I Everything was in great condition. The area is a little desolate, but there is a small grocery store and restaurant nearby. We used the included passes to visit the local pool, which was very refreshing! We didn't use the washing machine, but it was a little different in style compared to others we used in the country. It was right on the ring road, but very few cars came by while we stayed there, so it was pretty quiet. Overall very comfortable and just what we needed!

The house was great - extremely well located to see all that is available in Myvatn and well equipped. We were easily able to cook in the kitchen and although the house was small, there was plenty of room for our group of 5 (2 adults and 3 teens). Our only complaint was that the lights outside of the house couldn't be shut off. They were on a timer and stayed on from 6 pm to 6 am. They shone in all the windows all night, requiring us to use the blackout shades, and made it difficult to see and photograph the northern lights, which were fantastic while we were there. We had to go down the road to take photos. Consider this if you are looking for isolation and darkness - the home is located super close to attractions, yet far from everything, except it's own light pollution.

Perfect Iceland ring road midway stop. We stayed here for two nights during late March. The studio is very spacious and very well equipped, you feel like at home. The views to the lake are magnificent and peaceful. Washer and dryer combo machine was very convenient to do midway laundry on our trip. Plenty of sights to visit and enjoy winter snow walks. Highly recommend place. We had a very pleasant stay.

This little cottage was one of the highlights of our trip in Iceland! It was so warm and cozy and included anything that you might need. The location is amazing and as we visited during March, the lake was frozen and the surroundings were full of snow! We really felt like home there and wish that we can visit one more time in the future.

Agnieszka was an amazing host. She was very friendly and welcomed us into her home. Everything was as described and very clean. Agnieszka went out of her way to make sure we were helped and had everything we needed including helping us with laundry. We felt right at home during our stay. I would definitely stay here again if I come back to Husavik!

So tranquil and private and jet just a few minutes away from great things to explore. We had an amazing experience staying at this place. The harbour is just five minutes away from the place. This place is located on the third floor and there is no lift, so we had to carry all our luggage to The third floor. That’s the only drawback. Apart from that view from window was beautiful. We could see the Ocean and the mountains behind it on a good day, you might be able to spot whales Right from the house. The host was very friendly. He gave us some really good tips about whale watching tour and also helped us check the road conditions for a journey ahead

Linda was very nice and approachable. We found a simple, cozy and very warm home. A sauna and a tub would make it even better. We had a problem with the bathroom that he promptly solved, and then an inconvenience with the kitchen that was not done on purpose. I definitely recommend it and will be back. In winter it is not easy to reach by road but it will be beautiful with the northern lights

Holistic Guesthouse - Room B

I stayed a couple of nights at Elín’s Hólmavað Guesthouse. Despite being a short notice request Elín was very accommodating and able to host. The house was spacious and comfortable! It has a large bathroom compared to most places. Plenty of room and nice and warm. I was the only guest at the time and was able to enjoy the peace and quiet, the view of the farm fields, and the house amenities. Also I was able to do some much needed laundry! The guesthouse was just a 20 minute drive to Húsavík where there are restaurants, gas and grocery stores, and the relaxing Geosea thermal baths. And it's just a 35 minute drive to the Mývatn area. Elín and her husband were friendly and helpful, and I would love to book again when in the area.
