Whitefish Home, Hot Tub! Walking Trail

TamaraRating, 5 stars2 months ago
Michael was a great communicator and responded to every question we asked. The cabin looked exactly like the pictures and was very clean and well set up. We appreciated that Michael allowed us to change a reservation easily and was super friendly about it. The hot tube was so clean and clear, we all enjoyed it after a full day of skiing. I highly recommend this cabin!

The Shoebox, a little cottage, one dog friendly.

NancyRating, 5 stars7 months ago
We spent a week at Shoebox and really enjoyed our stay. The location is perfect for walking downtown Kalispell shopping, museums, and eating. The neighborhood is quiet with light traffic. The size of the Shoebox is perfect for 2 people. There are enough places to put your items while staying at the cottage. Gail has supplied a LOT of extras, bear spray, bug spray, bandaids, spices, etc. to make your stay easier. Parking is right outside the door off the street. We ate most of our meals in the cottage. There were enough cooking pans, aluminum foil, cooking spray, etc. There are only enough bowls, plates, spoons, and forks for a couple of meals, so you need to run the dishwasher every day. The bed was very soft for us, but others may like a very soft bed. We enjoyed playing corn hole in the evening. The gas stove worked perfectly on the cold mornings. There are a lot of windows to open during the day. The lockbox worked great. Internet was excellent. Close to Whitefish & Bigfork.

Pet Friendly! The Jewel View Cottages Unit 8

RobertRating, 5 stars5 months ago
Tons of space with 5 beds. We had our family of 5 in the winter which was very quiet. I wouldn’t have minded a little bit more privacy but can see how this would be a great community space in the summer to socialize and hangout after a hike or playing pickleball. The host was very responsive, friendly and helpful.

Shoppers Central, West End Beauty

BeckaRating, 5 stars3 weeks ago
This house was perfect for our family. It's well-located for access to the entire West End. It was even easy to get to downtown. The beds were comfortable and everything was clean. I liked the closets with plenty of hangers. The washer and dryer are very nice and they even had nice toilet paper. The couch was comfortable and cozy with the pillows and blanket. We were there for 10 days and we felt very at home during our stay. Eric is an excellent host and very responsive. We had to change our itinerary twice and he was able to accommodate our needs both times. I would like to stay here again next time we are in Billings.

Small beautiful home out of town

TaylorRating, 5 stars7 months ago
My mom and I stayed at SueAnn’s for the first part of our Montana trip. It was a great location - right between downtown Whitefish and Kalispell and not far from Glacier NP. It was extremely peaceful - I read in the sunroom with a cup of coffee most mornings, mom sat on the front porch in the evenings. SueAnn (and her sweet dog Billie) was lovely to meet. I would certainly come back here again.

My husband and I spent a few days at Liz's house for a getaway, and we were absolutely blown away by how perfect the space was. The view just cannot be beat and the location is great for getting to Yellowstone. The house was clean, comfortable and inviting. Liz had thought of wonderful touches to make the stay more comfortable and we had everything we needed. The bed we slept in was very comfortable, and we would definitely stay here again if we find ourself every in the area.

Luxe: Glacier Haus adventure base, hot tub!

TeresaRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
Our stay was for our anniversary and what a perfect spot. It was a beautiful setting, neighbors closer than what we thought would be but that all worked out good with the privacy fence. House was exactly how it was represented online, VERY comfortable bed, hot tub was nice to relax in. We have our own business as a young couple working 14+ hours a day, this break was greatly needed and was perfect for our quiet celebration of marriage. Thank you.

KapryniRating, 5 stars3 months ago
Jewel is extremely responsive and accommodating! We enjoyed the pool house and Jewel moved us before we got there so we wouldn’t have to trudge through the snow. After arriving we were extremely grateful she did! We had a wonderful time, the kids loved skiing and then coming back to swim! Everyone slept great! As someone mentioned before, the hot water is limited. We did learn to space out our showers but there was great water pressure! The townhouse was clean and quiet, calm enough for a deer to visit this morning! The kitchen was wonderfully stocked. We would definitely stay here again, thank you Jewel!!

Your guide to Montana

Welcome to Montana

Montana easily earns its unofficial nickname: Big Sky Country. There’s something about the jagged peaks and sweeping prairies that make the horizons seem vaster in the Mountain West. Hundreds of lakes, alpine trails, and thrilling slopes help explain Montana’s allure as an outdoor adventure destination, where legendary national parks such as Glacier and the northern reaches of Yellowstone preserve some of America’s most pristine wildernesses. This is also a place meant for road trips. Threaded through with remote highways and scenic drives, the state’s landscapes vary dramatically as you move from one side to the other — from the Great Plains in the east to the grandeur of the Rocky Mountains in the west. When you finally roll into main cities such as Billings and Missoula, or popular destinations like Whitefish and Bozeman, you’ll find little urban centers known for their rising culinary scenes, craft breweries, and Montana’s unmistakably rugged culture.

The best time to stay in a vacation rental in Montana

Montana’s national parks get busiest in the peak months of July and August. Summer offers the most predictably warm weather, which makes it ideal for hiking, swimming in the lakes and rivers, and backcountry excursions. Early fall sees crowds thin. September and early October are favorite months for solitude seekers. From December to March, snow in the Rocky Mountains lures the crowds back to the slopes around resort towns like Big Sky and Whitefish. Away from the resort towns, winter and spring can be somewhat unpredictable, with conditions generally a bit colder and snowier east of the continental divide. Heavy snowfall means remote roads are often not maintained, leaving many magnificent landscapes accessible only to experienced outdoors people.

Top things to do in Montana

National Bison Range

Visit one of the few places left on the continent where the bison still roam freely. On the Flathead Indian Reservation in western Montana, the National Bison Range conserves the habitat for around 300 of North America’s largest mammals, a species that nearly went extinct in the late 1800s. Under the stewardship of the Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribes, the nature refuge gives wildlife watchers and photographers opportunities to spot these majestic creatures up close.

Glacier National Park

If your mental image of Montana has magnificent snowy peaks and pristine evergreen forests, then you’re probably picturing Glacier National Park — an expansive wilderness area in the northern Rocky Mountains. It’s a top destination for outdoor recreation, with 762 alpine lakes and more than 700 miles of trails to explore. The seasonal Going-to-the-Sun Road crosses the park from east to west, lined with scenic viewpoints.

Continental Divide National Scenic Trail

Hikers trace the continental divide several hundred miles through western Montana, where you can step between the Atlantic and Pacific oceans’ watersheds. The epic long-distance trail cuts across multiple scenic areas, including the Bob Marshall Wilderness and Lewis and Clark National Forest. Akin to the Appalachian and Paific Crest trails, the Continental Divide is a destination for backpackers, though its many access points make it easy to do day hikes.
