Pam was a great host. She was exceptionally quick to respond. She and her husband were very friendly. The house had great views of the lake, river and wetlands. We could even see an active eagle nest. The horses and chickens were an added bonus! There are neighbors but it was still pretty quiet. The house was clean and had everything we needed for a nice stay. We would not hesitate to return.

Contacted Cathy a couple of times; she was quick to respond. My mom used the oven for breakfast and a dessert. The oven while old was working perfectly. Maintained temperature and cooked evenly. Mom is in her 70’s and used to own a bakery and still bakes fresh desserts twice weekly at her sister’s restaurant. Not your modern day junk. Plenty of restaurants room for 6 adults and wad easy to get to. Passed on the location to other relatives so they could have a better option than local hotels. Would stay again!

Doug and team were amazing and made our stay so great for Christmas. We were all in town to see my grandma for Christmas. Unfortunately she passed the day after we left but we created the best memories with family in this home. I’m sure this will become a tradition for our family now. Really unique home in a beautiful area just outside of Peoria.

Brent’s place is amazing. He and his wife leave extremely thoughtful amenities and they have wonderful recommendations on places to go and places to eat. His place is EXTREMELY clean, has comfortable beds, and is quiet. We loved it!

This house was beautifully located right near Little Swan Lake. We had no problems finding it. The hot tub was great. Added to the wonderful view of the lake at night. Though it was just two of us most nights (two of our grandchildren stayed one night) there are plenty of beds and space to sleep a group. We had family over a couple of times for dinner and a cookout on the grill. Our hosts were great about contacting us back when we had questions. The downstairs was very spacious and had a nice-sized bathroom (which was good as we had a tornado come through the area and we felt very safe and secure there.) Power went out for 15 hours. Neighbors were nice and very friendly and even brought over candles for us. When the electricity came back on, all of our food in the fridge and freezer were still cold/frozen, which we were very impressed with. Thank you, Nick, for sharing your place with us. We loved our stay. The property is beautiful and beyond peaceful and relaxing. The cottage is very cozy. The kitchen was very well stocked. The dogs are absolutely adorable and we saw a lot of deer and an eagle. Elkhart is a very cute town with a few nice shops. It is also an easy drive to Springfield. Court was VERY quick to help on a few minor issues. We will definitely stay again if back in the area.
