Monthly Rentals in Kakanui

This is a quintessential family batch, it oozes love out of every corner. Every thing you need is there, we are always very prepared but if you are not like us then you will find the basics accounted for. The view is just amazing, you could just spend the day watching the surfers and walkers on the beach, the weather change or just the waves roll in. Easy walk to the beach and a car ride or 40min walk to the cafe/dairy. The best part for us is being dog friendly, be mindful that it is not fenced for doggies so you have to watch them, ours is like Velcro so had no issues. I would totally recommend if you need to find a place to decompress and enjoy a holiday home that has roots deep set in family.

We had a fantastic time here. The cube is beautifully appointed, spacious and cozy all wrapped into one. The views are spectacular, it has everything you need. The beds are so unbelievably comfortable, to the point I'm trying to recreate the set up at home. The beaches and surrounds are amazing in whatever weather. We just didn't book for long enough. A cute little cosy cabin in a beautiful, tranquil location. I was wanting a getaway from Dunedin for a few days and chanced upon this cabin in Kakanui. I was lucky to have found this enchanted place. Kathrin and Walter were great hosts in going the extra mile in making a shy, private person like me feel comfortable and welcome. They invited me into their home and offered me coffee and kept me warm with their log fire while there was a brief power outage in Kakanui. Their narration of how they first arrived in this country from their home in Switzerland was very interesting and admirable. Kathrin has the gift of being jovial and is a great conversationist. A perfect spot to relax and enjoy the amazing views in a comfortable & cozy holiday home. It was so good to find accommodation that is genuinely dog friendly. It is walking distance to the river and beach. We really loved our 4 night stay here and thank you Lisa for sharing your home & being such a great host.
