The BEST Views, Heated Pool, 4 BRs, Sleeps 10!

ElissaRating, 5 stars1 week ago
This vacation rental was everything we had hoped for and more. The views from every room were amazing but the kitchen may have been my favorite. The expansive marsh view from the kitchen was memorizing. Don't forget your binoculars for spectacular bird watching! The house was very clean and well furnished with comfortable beds. The walk to the beach only took a few minutes and during this time of year, we practically had the beach to ourselves. The pool and downstairs area are a wonderful place to hang out. This house has so many decks and outside areas that provide opportunities for reading, deep conversations, meditating and game playing. We enjoyed meals at the oversized dining room table while looking at the ocean views in the front and the marsh out of the back windows. Elizabeth has created a truly comfortable and restful vacation house.

🐶 BOW•WOW🐾 BEACH•BUNGALOW™🏖 🏠Cozy & Dog Friendly🐶

AmandaRating, 5 stars1 week ago
This is the most dog-friendly AirBnb we have ever stayed at! The pups loved running in the backyard and relaxing on the covered patio. Everything we needed was closeby, and the cozy colorful decor made us feel right at home. There were so many thoughtful touches, like dream catchers in every room and kantha fabrics, which feel luxurious but comfortable at the same time. This bungalow is close to restaurants, a grocery store, & entertainment. We had a wonderful time in Oak Island!

The Bridge of Coral Oak

BryanRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
We stayed in this tiny house for a weekend while in town for a youth sporting event. Weeks before our arrival, Annia was quick to answer my questions. Through our correspondence, she learned that we would be celebrating a couple birthdays around the time of our stay. When we arrived, there was a Happy Birthday sign in the living room, a hand-written welcome note, and some sweet treats. Annia also left a ticket for the local fire department’s Halloween fundraiser and asked that we stop by the concession stand where she and her husband were volunteering so we could meet. I’m so glad we went to the Haunted Trail and took a few minutes to meet Annia and Richard in person. They made us feel like family and even introduced us to her mom who was also volunteering. The house is located in a very quiet, wooded area. The front porch is very inviting and I wish we would have had time to relax in the chairs. Inside, the house was very clean and although tiny, we never felt crowded. Outsi

Charming Ocean Isle Condo With Pool Ocean Isle

DillonRating, 5 stars1 month ago
Craig’s place was super toddler friendly which was a huge plus for mom and dad. We loved the layout of the home. Super clean and easy to get into the home. The instructions Craig provided were super helpful and clear. The walk to the beach was so close which was awesome only complaint there was we wish there was a ramp. But other than that it was a phenomenal stay and we would highly recommend this airbnb to friends and family. We definitely will be returning in the near future for another vacation!

Your guide to Holden Beach

Introduction

Sandwiched between Oak Island and Ocean Isle Beach, Holden Beach is a slip of an island that separates the Intracoastal Waterway from the Atlantic Ocean. Home to fewer than 700 residents, it’s one of the mellower North Carolina beach towns of Brunswick County. For years, Holden Beach forbade the construction of buildings taller than 35 feet, so it retains a small-town feel and has long been a favorite choice for quiet family beach getaways in the summertime. With Shallotte Inlet to the west and Lockwoods Folly Inlet to the east, this barrier island is rife with coastal waterways just begging to be explored by boat or kayak: you may spot nesting sea turtles, shorebirds fishing for their lunch, and even the occasional dolphin. When you’ve had enough of the water and white-sand beaches, there are some 125 golf courses within an hour’s drive.

The best time to stay in a vacation rental in Holden Beach

Summer days in the North Myrtle Beach area are hot, humid, and breezy, with average highs in the upper 80s Fahrenheit. The water temperature is not far behind, reaching a bathtub-like 82 degrees in August. Summer is also the region’s wettest time of year: Holden Beach gets nearly half its annual rainfall in August and September alone, and it’s always a good idea to be mindful of tropical storms during hurricane season, which runs from June to November. Spring and fall are ideal times to stay in one of the area’s vacation rentals, when temperatures are mild and it’s not too humid. Winter nights can be downright cold, so pack something cozy. When swimming, always be careful of dangerous rip currents.

Top things to do in Holden Beach

Holden Beach and Fishing Pier

Holden Beach’s eight-mile strand offers simple pleasures: sunbathing, swimming, surfing, crabbing, or just taking a leisurely sunset stroll. Be mindful of sea turtles nesting in the sand dunes. Anglers can cast a line off the pier (fishing licenses and live bait are sold on-site). If you’re thinking of traveling with your dog, note that pets are not allowed on the beach during peak season (May to September) except after 5 p.m., and they must be leashed at all times.

Intracoastal Waterway

On the back side of the island, the Intracoastal Waterway offers a whole different vibe, with waterside restaurants and marshy ecosystems that are fun to navigate by kayak or paddleboard. You can also fish the ICW from a fishing pier at the end of Jordan Boulevard.

Golf

Brunswick County is home to more than 30 championship golf courses, including nearby Lockwood Folly Country Club and Carolina National Golf Club.
