Monthly Rentals in El Capitan Reservoir

Jacob’s place felt like a home away from home! Clean, beautiful and great location that was close to my daughter’s house for my granddaughter’s bday! If they do 2 day stays again I will definitely be staying there! The back porch, games, star gazing and fireplace were my fav! Thank you so much for your hospitality! You both thought of everything!

The tiny cabin on the top of the hill was peaceful and surrounded by awesome views. Both sunrises and sunsets, and the stars at night were stunning. The friendly horses, mini horses, and Penelope the donkey (even the elusive Panda ) were a daily highlight. (The goats, chickens, pig, and more horses were up by Karen’s house so a quick message to her and we were able to go and visit them) The Cabin was tiny but had pretty much what we needed as far as dishes/silverware/games/fridge/microwave/toaster oven. The weather was cold the first couple days and the little heaters did the job. The loft bed was a steep climb on a ladder, the bed was comfortable but so was the futon couch so sleeping on either one works. The bathroom was a little walk away but never a problem (there was a skunk, bunny, and deer sighting on the way out there but they ran off) heater in the bathroom was perfect on those cold mornings. The drive up to the cabin was easy, last bit was steep but never worrisome.

Great place and felt right at home. All the amenities were an added plus! Easy parking and close to town. Would definitely stay there again!

A beautiful setting & lovely guest house with charming decor. I prefer a no-host/no deadline check-in, especially as we were driving down from Los Angeles on a Friday afternoon, a 2.5-hour drive that took 5 hours -- and I was sweating that deadline the whole way. I was prepared for it, but ... The place could use a bit of maintenance/professional cleaning -- found a sock and dog bone under the bed, indicating that it hadn't been swept under there. The water seemed low in the Jacuzzi when we got in and an unpleasant foam formed almost immediately upon entry. Was not clear that it had been cleaned (or how well it had been cleaned) before our arrival. The host did warn us to watch our footing & heads while traversing the property, but the planking to the Jacuzzi and elsewhere, as well as hand-holds on railings, should be attended to. Wifi was weak/unreliable. Wasn't crazy about freeway noise either. All that having been said, it's a gem of a place that just needs updated TLC.
