Absolutely wonderful stay. Great for any occasion-from a couple's getaway to families with children of any age. The cottage was perfect and stocked with everything you could possibly need, right down to hot water bottles for winter nights! The continental breakfast, that is provided, had so much variety. Peaceful surrounds and plenty of outdoor furniture along with a fire pit area and huge bbq. Our hosts, Rebecca and Jol were so lovely and hospitable. They have done an awesome job and have gone the extra mile to make Monaukai Cottage a place that you will want to return to time and time again.

A very comfortable place to stay. I have stayed here before and would stay again. Walking distance to town.

David and Catherine were very responsive hosts. They agreed to an early check in and David was there to greet us. The accomodation is charming with many small loving touches. Kitchen had everything we needed and eggs from their hens and tomatoes from the garden were really appreciated (and delicious). We had a full weekend of yoga and meditation locally so spent very few of the daylight hours there but there would have been plenty to do on the farm and walking in the local area. Also it is less than 10 minutes into Talbot, and not much further to other really interesting towns and reserves in the central goldfields. We will have to return to do all this.

The location might be obscure and remote, but the host’s instructions were clear. Only 15 minutes to Maryborough, the closest biggest town, this cosy mud-brick cottage was exactly what our little family needed. This pet-friendly cottage allowed us to bring our beautiful French Bulldog, Mister Crumpet and he had fun trying to get the two older dogs, Zac and Betty, who lived on the property to play with him. Waking up every morning to the rustic rural landscape was sublime. With the sheep, birds and kangaroos jumping in paddock was a grounding experience. The cottage had everything we needed. A nice big kitchen to prepare meals, a spacious living room with the master bed. There is another bedroom with six bunk beds, perfect for large families. The bathroom was clean with plenty of amenities. The outdoor covered patio was our favourite space. Basking in the views, our dog could roam in the fenced area as we sit and sipped our tea. It was the perfect getaway. Highly recommended!
