Places to stay in Bicknell

Good shower, comfortable bed, very clean, so they hit the essentials. Kitchen was well appointed, and the house overall is very nice. It’s such a peaceful location with an amazing view. We hit the hot tub and checked out the dark sky for the meteor showers. Well worth it. Torrey is a very small town but it’s perfectly located between several state and national parks. Definitely would recommend this place.

Spent a weekend reconnecting with family. We spent most of our time on the decks enjoying the sunrise and sunset. The house had amazing views and was very private. The proximity to Capitol Reef National park (10-15 minute drive) made this an ideal place to start our daily adventures into the park. The house was very clean and the host was very responsive and even let us check in a little early. I would highly recommend this place to anyone that wants some peace and quiet while enjoying spectacular views.

Our group of 8 (4 adults and 4 kids ages 5-11) enjoyed a few nights here. The location was relatively remote and surrounded by red rock and mountain scenes, though you do share these vistas with several nearby neighbors/properties. The houses nearby were quiet our entire stay - we only saw people coming and going twice during our time, so we felt quite alone which was nice. There isn’t much in the area, nearest actual grocery store is 20 minutes away in Loa, with a small convenience grocer about 10 minutes away in Torrey (marked up). A quick 15 minute drive to Capitol Reef made this stay worth it, it was nice to be able to get in and out so quickly. The home had several TV’s, lots of books to read (and help you plan your outings!) and some games for the kids, which we appreciated. Overall, a nice stay! Stargazing at night - 10/10!!!

This is a glorious outdoor and artistic setting. The attention to detail was impeccable. Would higher recommend. Hidden gem.

First off…wow…what a spot. It’s rare to find such place close to town and yet so secluded. Perched on a rise below the cockscomb on a HUGE property with 360 degree views ranging from snow capped mountains to the expanse of the Colorado plateau. There with literally the feeling of no one else in the space before we even entered what can be described as nothing short of a villa. The weather was perfect and so clear we could see the freshly snow capped rim of the San Juan mountains of Colorado distant on the horizon and oft mistaken for faraway clouds. The grassy lawn facing East brought a feel of oasis in the wilderness. The single floor plan layout is delightful with windows and light abounding. The master suite faces the sun and moon rise with a full view and excellent darkening shades. The most understated feature is the walk in shower with four narrow vertical windows in an arc to the south. The kitchen is well equipped and the west side of this villa is sun soaked and spacious.

This was our favorite place that we have stayed as a family! The outdoor space was spectacular, so peaceful and beautiful. We ate outdoors for every meal. Remote enough to have a dark sky experience with the night stars. Extra amenities were a plus; great set up for a family of 4 or 2 couples. Within 20-25 min from Capitol Reef- which is perfect distance to enjoy the park during your stay. Truly a remarkable experience!
