If you love having nature on your doorstep whilst feeling right at home, Bellbird Retreat is the perfect spot to stay in Mallacoota. Backing onto Shady Gully we saw a koala, over 30 varieties of birds (lyrebirds/honeyeaters/parrots/raptors) and at night had a visit from a long-nosed bandicoot. Annette and Chris were wonderful hosts with local recommendations and even baked some delicious bread during our stay! The well equipt spacious place was comfortable and cosy. We look forward to coming back again.

We absolutely loved the township of Mallacoota and wish we had stayed longer. The accommodation was lovely and comfortable and impeccably clean.

This was easily one of the best Airbnb experiences my wife and I have had! Sean went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed, even providing a change table and playpen for our 6-month-old daughter. Although we only stayed one night, it was the perfect stop after a long road trip. We woke up feeling completely refreshed especially after truely breathtaking sunrise views! I highly recommend this place, even if it’s just for a short stay!

We initially worried that Arlene’s might be a little too far out of town, BUT we ABSOLUTELY loved the location. An easy walk to the lakefront to swim, to a pier for renting boats and a lovely walkway all the way into town (4.2km away). The local wildlife in the area was our highlight - so many birds, a koala, kangaroos and even a colony of flying foxes (only there two months a year). The cottage itself is comfortable, beautiful, private and well appointed. Arlene is friendly and welcoming. We totally recommend and would return in a heartbeat!
