We loved Manolis’ house. It is impossible to describe. This house is an experience. He and his father built it on the 200 year old remains of an old farm house. It is the perfect balance of experiencing life a century ago while enjoying modern amenities. We highly recommend you book this for the truly unique experience. Might be difficult for anyone who has trouble with stairs. Here are a few highlights: Free parking 75 meters away. 2.5 bathrooms, one bathtub and one shower. Nice, functional little kitchen. We did some cooking and had all the basics. Free wine and Raki. Two tavernas within 100 meters. Very quiet Truly eco with solar heated water with an electric boiler for backup. Good WiFi Lots to do in the area. We had a great hike over at Patso Gorge Manolis usually responded immediately when we messaged him. Best of all. Manolis’ mom brought us breakfast treats in the morning. Here’s a challenge if you stay there. See if you can find the wine cellar. Have fun!!

The house is truly something special. The interior and design of the house is super tasteful and combines traditional Crete with modern elements. Everything in the house was spotless and brand-new. The view from the terrace was breathtaking and the courtyard was very cosy. We can only recommend this gem of house at Crete. The location is a little remote but perfect to relax and enjoy Crete off the beaten paths. We hope we will come back. Also the village where the house is located is so picturesque. Amazing local tavern with great authentic food are in walking distance.

Manolis Villa is in a stunning location, surrounded by mountains, with Mount Ida, the highest peak and the legendary birthplace of Zeus, right in front of you. The villa is located in a small village that offers an authentic taste of Cretan life. You’ll wake up to the sound of goat and sheep bells, and on Sundays, the charming ring of church bells. Walking through the narrow streets, you’ll find fresh fruit, olive groves, vineyards, and small hidden churches. Beautiful beaches are about an hour’s drive away, with breathtaking views along the way. Manolis and Rumi’s hospitality is exceptional. From the moment we arrived, we felt welcomed and even spoiled. Manolis greeted us with treats and lots of information about Crete, while Rumi made sure we had everything we needed, cooking delicious traditional dishes for us in the evenings. This is a place you’ll definitely want to visit again!

There is no way I can say enough great things about Gina and her place in the small amount of words given. She is the warmest, most generous host ever! The location is just above the beautiful village of Spili. The home is charming and has everything you need. She gives a breakfast of cereal and yogurt. Never had a host do that before. She leaves brownies and fruit in the room. Great beds! Bathroom shower is hot and strong! Bath towels large and fluffy. Gina has thought of everything! She has a washer and dryer. The home has a sitting room downstairs with a TV and lots of DVDs. She has maps, books and her own recommendations available. The outdoors has 2 terraces, an abundance of flowers and fruit trees. It’s in a very private setting and evenings are quiet for a good sleep. To sum it all up, when travelling in this area, Gina’s place is a must stay!
