Cottage vacation rentals in Portavadie

Flew in from Toronto, Canada to this beautiful home away from home. Barbara, Graeme (and Rosie) were extremely hospitable and welcoming hosts. The cottage has everything you need. Lovely, comfortable linens and beds, clean and modern bathrooms, fully stocked kitchen, and great and private hot tub. The location is very rural, but easy to find with google maps. The town of Kilburnie is close by with a grocery store, gas station and pharmacy among other amenities.

Thoroughly enjoyed our weekend away, even though it was raining most of the time. We loved the location on the river especially when sat in the hot tub relaxing.

A great getaway with loads to do close by for whatever mood you're in - great towns and cities like Calendar and Stirling less than half an hour away, equally beautiful countryside and multiple waterfalls, lochs and walks to choose from on the doorstep. Our toddler loved the on site swimming pool and the grown ups enjoyed the peaceful views from the hot tub too! Rosie was so friendly and accommodating.

Beautiful little cottage, garden and surroundings. After a stressful and long few months establishing a relocated business it was lovely to let go and do nothing in peace! The repurposed and upcycled features are gorgeous and the garden was perfect for our inquisitive and active dog to entertain himself without worry of him getting out. Sitting on the veranda with wine and the fire-pit going whilst watching the rain was just perfect (for me, a weird inclement weather lover!).

Cottage is in a beautiful location beside the river in Killin. Plenty of space inside as it's clutter free with the added advantage of a large deck to store any bikes, etc. It's an easy walk into town for the kids and lots to do nearby so long as you're outdoorsy. We enjoyed a fun week of hillwalking, cycling, kayaking and SUPing although clearly we were very lucky with the weather. All in all a great base to explore the area.

A thoughtful use of the space within the cottage. A few niggles with lights not working & no local electrician available. Lots of local information. The hot tub is well worth the time it takes to heat up. A great spot for a short break.

Have just spent a few days at Ashburn cottage & it was lovely. The cottage was very comfortable with everything you could need & had fabulous views of the loch & mountains. The weather was cold, crisp & sunny so was stunning, we did have a wee flurry of snow. Loved the log burner, so cosy!! Had a lovely meal at the Goil Inn & The Boat Shed cafe a definite for a visit! Will hope to be back again soon 👍

I book for members of staff: guest who stayed reported it was clean, in a lovely setting, and he'd be very happy if he'd to return to the area to stay there again.

Stunning cottage with a real home from home feel. The cottage was very clean on arrival and check in was a breeze. The artwork inside was particularly special to look at. Hope to be back.

This was the most incredibly beautiful property in a stunning location. Pier Cottage is so private and peaceful with views over Loch Striven where you can sit and relax whilst watching the array of wildlife around you or take the kayak out on the loch. The cottage was extremely comfortable and well appointment with everything you would need for you stay. If you are looking for somewhere to unplug from the world and completely relax - this is the ideal place.

Lovely place to stay in the middle of Bowmore. Great base for walking, cycling etc. on Islay. Lovely house with a stream through the garden.

We absolutely fell in love with the place. The cottage was warm, cosy, and had everything one needed. I travelled with my granny, daughter and my dog Bailey and we all settled down quickly, it was like being at home. But it wasn't only about the cottage and the lovely host; it was also about the location. The cottage is located just outside of Drymen, a lovely little village with very kind people. I do recommend it to anyone who's looking for a country getaway and who wants an unforgettable stay.

We have family in the village but needed a place to sleep. The cottage was ideal. Comfortable beds. A well equipped kitchen. Outside seating if you’re fortunate with the weather. It’s a short wander along to the co-op if you need bits and pieces. Aberfoyle is stunning. Gorgeous walks all around you as well as opportunities to go and see some red squirrels. A lovely place to stay for a few days.

Beautiful cottage which has been really thoughtfully designed. For a family of four it was perfect and the scenery is beyond breathtaking.

Jane's cottage was exactly as described and immaculate - like a home from home. Easy to find, easy to park at. Great location for the many local attractions - we stayed a few days - we could have had a few weeks worth of things to see. Cottage is beautiful and in a perfect location for exploring locally or regionally. Beautiful, pristine accommodation with garden area and direct walking access to historical rock art sites and the canal. Thoughtfully chosen guide books available to help guests choose things to see. Lochgilphead close by with good takeaways (Argyll Cafe, Taj Mahal) , cafes (Salty Dog) and a CoOp open till 10pm. Really loved the cottage and the area, highly recommend.

What a beautiful cottage in stunning surroundings! Fraser Cottage is the perfect home away from home, with everything you could want or need. The log fire was amazing after a day of walking on nearby beaches! Our dog Mabel absolutely loved the surrounding gardens and laying by the fire too! Philippa and Ninian were so helpful and friendly throughout our stay and we look forward to coming to stay again!

A real gem of a cottage, spacious and cosy at the same time. Fabulous river at bottom of garden which kids can paddle/swim in. Great location in middle of island so everything accessible. Super comfortable beds and great tips in visitor book! Book this if your dates are available!!!

Arrivain has to be seen to be believed. If you want fresh air, peace and quiet in a beautiful cottage with a very friendly host who also respects your privacy you’ll struggle to find anywhere better. The attention to detail of Jacqui & Jeff is exceptional, fresh flowers, local produce (and homemade) in a welcome pack were amazing. The beautiful surroundings were a pleasure to wake up to every morning. If you want a real retreat from the hustle and bustle of everyday life this is definitely it. I think we’ll be back!

The cottage is in a beautiful location, with walking from the door and useful nearby amenities in Strachur. The space is well thought out and the garden and seating lovely to enjoy a cup of tea in the sunshine. The bed was lovely and comfy and the shower was great too! Well equipped kitchen for self catering, we also tried The Creggans Inn and had a lovely meal there especially the local seafood. Highlights for us were walking the Cowal way from the door toward Curran Lochain which makes a beautiful spot for a picnic and visiting Inverary and castle.

We loved Fairy Cottage's location, very peaceful, but there is lots to do in the surrounding area and it's very close to Lochside where we were attending a wedding reception. Hugh was so helpful and friendly - nothing too much trouble. He greeted us when we arrived and showed us around. The cottage is beautifully decorated and has everything you could possibly need for a stay in this area. We only wished that we could have stayed longer - we were there for just 1 night. Angela had left us some little cakes which were much appreciated by us with a cup of tea after our 5 hour jorney from Lancashire after delays on the M6.
