Calandra’s home was just as described, very clean, and smelled amazing. We had no issues with checking in and appreciated the available linens and kitchenware. We loved waking up seeing the sunrise against the water right behind the house. If there’s one thing I would recommend, it would be a bathroom fixture upgrade. Otherwise, the home is absolutely amazing and we would definitely stay again!

This home is exactly what we needed. It rained most days we were there and we still had a blast! Walking through the trails and catching huge fish were our highlights. Thank you for sharing your peaceful cottage! Highly recommend this cottage if you are in need of a peaceful getaway.

We planned a trip to Petersburg, VA from New Jersey to visit with relatives. We found The Cozy Rancher and booked it after looking at it along with several other options. I kept going back to this one and felt it would be a good fit for our group. The place was great, and felt like a home away from home! It was comfortable and clean, and in a central location to the places we were visiting. It helped that we had beautiful weather and could use the outdoor seating. We had a wonderful time visiting our family and staying at this home added a lot of value to our trip. We would highly recommend staying if you're in the area. Thank you!

This is a great house in a lovely, quiet neighborhood. There's tons of yard space, and honestly, the house is even prettier in person than it looks in the photos. It's large, open, and very homey... it has that comforting "grandmother's house" feel, but in a really charming way, not old or outdated. Definitely not your plain, cookie-cutter hotel vibe! Everything was very clean, but the place still had so much character. I also really appreciated the focus on restoring original features rather than replacing everything as it added a lot of warmth and uniqueness. Also, the water filter at the sink was a huge bonus and saved me money on bottled water. Highly recommend!

This boat, and its captain, are very interesting, and a unique opportunity to experience the James River. She's an old boat, and she shows her age. We had a couple of small issues that didn't really affect our comfort, but Ron was still very responsive and courteous to resolve what he could. The bed was VERY comfortable, and the marina was quiet and pleasant.

We loved our stay at Amelia’s cabin! It is such a beautiful location and so peaceful. Our family had the best time fishing from the dock, going out on the canoe, enjoying the hot tub and having a bonfire. We would definitely come back! Our dogs had the best time swimming as well. Amelia was always very responsive, friendly and helpful! She is a wonderful host!

Visit Petersburg & stay in a mansion! On our recent trip to Petersburg we stayed at the Strawberry Hill Inn, a fully restored mansion that was built in 1792. The inn has several rooms that are all decorated differently making each guest's experience unique. We were originally going to stay in the Hearth Room but, switched to the Barksdale Suite on the first floor. Our suite was large with a king sized bed and a separate seating area. While the room is decorated beautifully with art and furniture that will take you back in time, there are modern amenities like a tv, mini fridge, and nespresso machine. The bed was so comfortable and we woke up each day restored and ready to explore the amazing Old Towne Petersburg area. The grounds of the property are beautiful with flowers, shade, and plenty of seating areas for you to enjoy a cup of coffee or glass of wine. We stayed with Don and Jane for a week and a half and it was so peaceful. The 3 rooms upstairs were perfect for our needs of resting, working remotely, and light exercising. Don and Jane were very accommodating (gluten free muffins!) and seemed like family by the time we left.
