A Hidden Gem that Captures the Soul of the Bush – Umntla Lodge is Pure Magic From the moment we arrived at Umntla Lodge, we knew we had stumbled upon something rare and truly special. Tucked away in the bushveld just outside of Brits, this lodge strikes the perfect balance between rustic charm and understated luxury. It doesn’t try too hard to impress—it simply is impressive, by virtue of its serenity, soul, and thoughtful design. Our kids loved exploring the paths, watching for animals, and listening to stories under the stars. We loved the quiet mornings, the long walks, and the simple joy of being together in a place that invites reflection and connection. The cleaning and housekeeping were top-notch—everything was spotless when we arrived, and it stayed that way throughout our stay. You can really feel the care and attention that goes into maintaining the space. It’s rare to find a lodge that feels both luxurious and warm, but Umntla manages to do both effortlessly.

We thoroughly enjoyed our recent stay at this home. The house was very clean and exactly as described in the information and photos. The house is in a lovely, secure estate and we felt very secure and comfortable the entire time.

Our stay here was fantastic. Exceptionally well appointed. Large bedrooms, modern bathrooms and many areas that allow guests to have their own space. The facilities at the viewing deck, the outdoor swinging chairs and the separate TV room - all allow guests freedom to relax, unwind and enjoy the surroundings. We never lacked for a thing. Highly recommended.

Cutty Sark exceeded all our expectations! The house was beautifully set up with everything we could possibly need—truly thoughtful touches, even for things we hadn't anticipated. It was spotless and had such a welcoming vibe that made us feel right at home. A fantastic value for an unforgettable stay. We spent most of our time outside soaking in the stunning view of the Dam. The outdoor space was perfect, offering a variety of seating options where we could relax and enjoy the tranquility, with the soothing sounds of birds all around. It was the ultimate escape from the hustle and bustle of daily life. Peter went above and beyond, giving us a warm welcome, showing us around, and offering his assistance with anything we needed. Kobus was incredibly responsive and a wonderful host, always ensuring we were comfortable. A huge thank you to both Kobus and Peter! We're already looking forward to our next stay in June!
