How to summarize a review for a place that has the potential to change your life has been a task. To stay with Cheryl and Jon at the Finca Aveterra is to be unplugged yet connected, cared for with generous hospitality, educated and informed of new ways of living; and for us specifically, reminded of who our Creator God is and the life He intended for us to live. It has been difficult to leave and felt like a departure from friends, family and home when we did. Cheryl was beyond gracious, helpful and thorough coordinating our arrival and departure, performing chef duties (unbelievable), connecting us to in-country travel means, greeting us in the middle of the night; Jon was passionately energetic sharing about syntropic agroforestry, touring us through the farm, the valley (!!), and both touring us through the lodge, sharing the fruit of their labor (literally), engaging conversation and generosity. Thank you for the time and grace of this beautiful place, Jon and CC. Con abrazos.

Wendy is a most gracious and generous host. This is the second time we have stayed with her and look forward to doing so again. Wendy's place is our absolute favorite and for a reason. It is truly the Garden of Eden, a slice of Paradise, and Wendy has created an Ecco friendly abode , not just for her guests, but also for the surrounding flora and fauna.We saw Toucans and lightning bugs while sipping coffee, wine from the balcony, with nothing in front of us but a protected biosphere. Wendy was so very accommodating to our every need, providing fresh flowers in the room, chocolate to eat and coconuts to sip on, AND, the best coffee ever! Maria and Walter, her helpers, were wonderful. I can't say enough about this place and WENDY! We hiked, explored, and ate well. Wendy's place is far enough from Mindo to be quiet and tranquil, but close enough for an easy, beautiful walk. Thank you Wendy, and we will return. Can hardly wait!

Definitely a very nice and comfortable property, I felt right at home.

We absolutely loved this place — it’s like paradise! Fernando and the house manager, Luis, were both very responsive and accommodating. The house is located in a quiet area and offers breathtaking views. There are tons of chirping birds everywhere — it’s truly amazing. We loved everything about this place: the hammock views, the balcony, the pool, and the sauna — all spectacular. We’re definitely coming back! Highly recommend if you’re looking for a quiet, tranquil day in a jungle-like environment.

An excellent place to spend a few days and rest. You'll be hard-pressed to find a place this clean. Ample parking for any type of vehicle, and all types of needs covered. Definitely a pleasure to have stayed there 10/10

Be ready to have all of your senses pampered. The view, the river, the house are just picture perfect. On top of that, the hosts are beyond awesome! Ecollacta is THE place to stay in the area.

Our stay was amazing. The house was spotless, very well equipped and located in a quiet area, ideal for resting. Communication with the host was great from the start, always attentive and willing to help. The kids really enjoyed the jacuzzi, it was one of the favorite points of the trip. I would definitely recommend this place and would be happy to come back!

Our 1-day stay was perfect. The house is beautiful as shown in the pictures. Complete in every way. The development is super safe and quiet. Access to the river is a few meters from the house. Communication with the hosts was ideal! Always looking out for us. Internet service is available. The view from the bedrooms is spectacular, we could see Toucans and Armadillos. 100% Recommended Home
