Charming terrace flat. Central & trendy location.

RenateRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
beautiful and well equipped apartment in a great location. Although in the heart of Lisbon, the apartment is very quiet. Filipa is a warm host, very helpful on arrival and departure and with lots of tips and addresses. We particularly enjoyed the morning coffee and in the evening a glass of wine on the very private terrace. We had a fantastic time and a perfect stay and would definitely stay at Filipa's again. Thanks again.

Really a great place to come and enjoy the heart of the city. We loved the windows that opened to the busy street below and yet when we closed them for the night the place was quiet, safe and private. Would totally love to stay here again. Thanks Liliana for helping make a great stay.

Nice Apartment, Three Suites and Terrace, Lisbon Center

LilyRating, 5 stars6 days ago
Rene’s apartment was perfect. We felt comfortable and safe in the area, there were plenty of restaurants around and easy links to both the airport and city (metro and buses). Rene was in touch throughout the trip making sure everything ran smoothly and the apartment was great, very spacious with enough room for all of us. I highly recommend staying here.

Casa nas Arribas

HannahRating, 5 stars1 week ago
Don't think twice- book this place! Dalila's place is absolutely stunning inside and out. The kitchen is adorable and stocked with all the tools you need, the entire home was so clean, and you just honestly cannot beat the views. The weather was super windy and rainy during our stay, but that just made cozying up inside feel even better. Lovely little cafe just up the road, groceries nearby, and an amazing seafood restaurant that Dalila was able to get us a reservation at (even when I asked way too last minute, lol). We will remember this romantic little getaway forever!

Ribavilla Surf House

CristinaRating, 5 stars8 months ago
We had a very pleasant stay in Ribamar at Filipa's... The house is perfect and very well decorated with 2 large bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. Filipa knows how to make herself available and responsive ... Modern and with an exterior where you can have lunch and a 2nd exterior or enjoy a relaxing moment in the evening Ribamar has kept its authenticity We recommend Filipa's place and the surrounding area with Ericeira and her surfers among others We'll be happy to go back. 😉 Cristina

Charming, authentic & close to the sea - La Quinta

BirgitRating, 5 stars3 weeks ago
The little house is really charming and has been renovated with a lot of love for detail. It is relatively close to the train station (good for excursions by train or bus), yet quiet. Those who value daylight could be disappointed (the windows are not that big, which is certainly advantageous in summer). Cleverly made: the "hideout" for buckets and clothes rack in the shower cubicle. We (both over 70) got used to the metal spiral staircase to the sleeping area better than we thought. For any problem or need, the hosts Ana and Raphael responded quickly.

Housy2 between Beach & Mountain

AmandaRating, 5 stars1 month ago
Candida was lovely and at check in, gave up local knowledge and tour of house, which was clean and very functional. They had a hair dryer, nice when traveling to not need your own or worry with voltage and a small space heater which was nice for our unusually cold days. There's two bedrooms, one with a comfortable bed (not too firm or too soft) and one that was a bit thinner and softer, so you have options! There was an induction stove top and microwave with a convection feature, good for warming things though probably not good for baking. The only con was unfortunately the towels and sheets are washed in a strongly scented detergent-common for Portugal but still bothersome. The location has great parking very close and free and is in a lovely neighborhood.

Charm and comfort with swimming pool. Ericeira

IlyaRating, 5 stars17 months ago
Lia's place is a tiny apartment with a separate entrance. The apartment is part of her house. There are a lot of common areas available for guests to use. I really liked sitting on veranda. The apartment is decorated with great taste. All appliances worked for me. I cooked there about 1 meal every second day. Lia was kind to provide me with a large sauce pan so that I can make my favorite soup.

Duplex & Terrace with a river view

BarbaraRating, 5 stars3 weeks ago
We stayed 6 nights and loved the amount of room in this apartment. Very clean, nice kitchen and right in the heart of Alfama with shops, restaurants and up the street great sunset views. Good views from the roof top deck too. After being in Portugal for over 2 weeks, we really appreciated the washer and dryer. Break is a wonderful coffee shop with good brunch menue right at the bottom of the steps. Yes, there are steps to the apartment but Alfama is up hill anyways.

Patricia is a great host! She is very responsive and proactive in her communication. The flat is situated in the heart of Alfama — we absolutely enjoyed exploring the little streets and hidden spots. Inside, the flat is spotlessly clean and just as described in the photos. It has everything you need for a restful holiday. We will not hesitate to recommend it to anyone visiting Lisbon.

Your guide to Lisbon

Welcome to Lisbon

The beautiful spectacle of Lisbon is perhaps best viewed from one of the seven hills the city is famous for. Climb to the top of one of these regal sentries and you’ll be rewarded with a panoramic perspective on one of the oldest cities in the world. Threaded with winding cobblestone alleys and walkways decorated with mosaic art, Portugal’s capital has accumulated layers of style over the years. You’ll find Gothic, Baroque, and postmodern architecture clustered here, among lush public gardens. One of Europe’s most important cities in terms of commerce and clout, it’s also a cultural powerhouse that boasts world-class museums such as the National Museum of Ancient Art. During the day the streets hum with the bustle of its vintage tram system, and sidewalk diners get their fill of fresh seafood hauled from the Atlantic. At night the city is popular with revelers who enjoy the view from the city’s many rooftop bars. As you make your way home at the end of a long, rewarding day, listen for the strains of fado music, a traditional genre of pretty, melancholic crooning set to lilting guitar.

The best time to stay in a vacation rental in Lisbon

Lisbon enjoys a Mediterranean climate, and it rarely experiences extreme weather. The summer is hot and dry, winter is cool, and spring and fall are mostly sunny with mild weather. No matter the season, there is usually something happening in Lisbon. In February the city celebrates Carnival with street parades featuring music, dance, and elaborate costumes. In May, bibliophiles rejoice when the Lisbon Book Fair kicks off and stalls selling best-sellers and antique wonders fill the walkways of Edward VII Park. In the summer, the Rock in Rio Lisboa festival brings big-name music acts to the city.

Top things to do in Lisbon

Estufa Fria

As you wander the lush walkways of Edward VII Park, make sure to stop at the Estufa Fria, a large and beautiful glass and steel hothouse where palms, ferns, and colorful flowers thrive among ponds and burbling water features appointed with graceful statues. The bustle of the city fades away as you traverse this indoor jungle, where little turtles cluster on the rocks.

National Coach Museum

Prepare to be awed at this wonderfully specific and expansive museum which documents life before rideshares. This more-than-a-century-old museum showcases vehicles from the 17th, 18th, and 19th centuries — such as ornate horse-drawn coaches.

Tram 28E

Visitors to Lisbon flock to this tram route for good reason: It traverses some of the city’s most scenic areas and makes stops at major sites along the way. Lisbon’s charming yellow and white electric trams began operation in 1901, and a ride on one is a must. Stops include Graça, often considered Lisbon’s prettiest hilltop lookout, and the Basilica da Estrela, one of the city’s most beautiful churches.
