Vacation rentals with a fireplace in Lake Mulwala

Alex's place was the perfect place for a large group of friends escaping the city. Alex was a great host and super helpful and easy to communicate with. The house was perfect for our group with plenty of beds and space for everyone. Well stocked kitchen which you don't always get with some places but Alex's had more than enough of everything you'd need for cooking a feast for loved ones. Oh and the pool and deck/bbq were very enjoyable too. Would definitely stay here again!

The house was incredibly welcoming and immediately made us feel at home, evoking a wonderful sense of nostalgia. It was in pristine condition, with spacious rooms, excellent amenities, and a beautifully maintained backyard. The location was perfect—just a short walk to a relaxing river trail. My daughter mentioned it was the best stay she’s ever had! All essential amenities were conveniently close by. We would definitely love to come back. Highly recommended!

This was our second stay here, and once again, it felt like coming home. Dot and Gary go above and beyond to make sure every detail is just right—not only for us, but for our fur baby. From thoughtful touches like Netflix, super effective heating system and a well-stocked kitchen to dog-friendly amenities that made our pup just as comfortable as we were, it’s clear this isn’t just a rental—it’s a place that’s been created with genuine care and love. Great walks along the Murray River, walking distance to shops and cafes. We’ve stayed in many places, but few offer this kind of warmth and attention to detail. We can’t wait to come back again.

We had the perfect weekend. The weather certainly helped but it was perfected by our stay at Mt Ophir Gatehouse. A wonderful, homely property close to Rutherglen in a peaceful location. The only sounds were the myriad of small birds and the local cows. Communication was excellent with the host Amy. We had some homemade granola and some basic supplies on arrival. The property was spacious, stylish and suited our group of 3 couples with well proportioned bedrooms, two with ensuites. Would love to come back with some girlfriends!

We enjoyed our stay at Wirra House: a lot of thought has been put into catering for the needs of guests, and Sharon has created an attractive and inviting home. It was great to relax on the back verandah. Thank you Sharon for making us feel so at home.

Secluded, private. Literally in the middle of a huge farm and surrounded by pastures and sheep as far as the eye can see. Beautiful sunset/sunrise and star gazing. Cottage is extremely rustic, so city dwellers might not appreciate it. We are in the country. There are bugs that occasionally make their way inside. There is wildlife outside. There is no TV as advertised. There are no door locks which can feel strange but you are protected by lots of open farmland and you have to drive past the main property to get to the Cottage. It is secure. Hot showers, functional kitchen, soft bed, electricity… nothing to do but put up your feet, stare off at nature and RELAX. It was warm and draft-free inside. You have your own (farm) fenced off huge yard for your dog to enjoy. Small thin dogs may make it through the gaps though. My dog loved running around the yard. Our host was extremely lovely and great at replies. Would go again :)

Lovely home and hospitality - a great country feel. 10mins drive from Corowa. We sadly didn't spend a lot of time at the home or on the farm as we had commitments with friends at the wineries but what you'll get is a large home, comfy beds and lots of space! Great communication and friendly hosts. A little tip - Google maps weren't great with the address but when we searched "The Sanctuary" it took you straight there!

We were traveling as a family of 4 (2 adults and 2 children) and had a lovely stay at Sue's house in Rutherglen. It's only a street away from all of the shops, restaurants and cafe's and lots of beautiful rides/walks along the old rail line. Wineries are all close by also. The house was clean and had everything we needed for a very comfortable stay. Highly recommend!
