Government-approved! Right in front of Kyoto National Museum!Spacious and clean house
Our family of 7 had a truly wonderful stay at Kimi’s place in Kyoto. The house was very clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed for a memorable trip. Kimi and his wife were incredibly kind and thoughtful. They even surprised us with gifts, which made our stay even more special. When we accidentally left an item behind, Kimi graciously arranged to have it delivered to us, showing such care and hospitality. Throughout our stay, communication was easy, warm, and helpful. We could really feel the heart they put into hosting, and we are so grateful for the experience. I highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Kyoto. Thank you again, Kimi and Marilyn!

I had a wonderful stay at this Airbnb! The place was clean, cozy, and exactly as described in the listing. The host was super friendly and responsive, making check-in and communication easy. The location was perfect—close to everything but still quiet and relaxing. I’d definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area.

Kyoto countryside , 5 min.from Hozugawa kudari
This was by far our favorite place we have EVER stayed. The home was beautiful and had so many details that made it special. Christian was a phenomenal host with great recommendations. The kaiseki meal he recommended was our favorite dinner in japan, because of him we tried things we would not have been able to experience otherwise. Book this place. You will never want to leave. There is a train station close that makes it easy to get to kyoto center and travel to other towns.

Acco went above and beyond, providing a comprehensive list of local recommendations. Her space was clean and it was clear she had put a lot of thought into the guest experience, providing instructions for each room of the house. Highly recommend for anyone visiting Kyoto. :)

3Mins Walk To 2Station Private Bedroom In 伏見稲荷大社
It was just perfect. The area was lively during the day and then quiet again in the evening. There are two train stations right next door, which makes you very flexible and means you can get into the city quickly. You should be aware that there is a railway crossing nearby that makes a bit of noise, but that wasn't so bad for me. If I lived in Kyoto, I would definitely be very happy living in this apartment. If I come back to Kyoto, I will book the same apartment again.

Great Location in Kyoto 3B
Conversation was easy) Apartment clean and nice) All notable places of Kyoto easy reachable (metro walking 5 minutes) - Nishiki market must visit!) arigato gozaimasu!

Traditional Japanese Apt Kyoto
Staying at Asami and Daniel's place was honestly the highlight of my whole trip. After being collected and escorted from the train station to the apartment, I was given bits of history about the neighbourhood and recommendations for food by Daniel. Upon arrival Asami greeted me and showed me how to use some of the more confusing amenities which was really helpful. I took them up on some of their suggested sightseeing and definitely wasn't disappointed, a stunning trek up Mt Kurama was my first pick. During my entire stay both were extremely kind and conscientious and shared so much knowledge with me, giving me a small peek into the lives of the locals. When leaving the city to head to Osaka, I was very kindly escorted back to the train station and send a message when I got home safely. Kyoto will definitely be the city I come back to on my next visit to Japan and staying with Asmai and Daniel again would be a treat!

B5 Kyoto is located in Shijo Kawaramachi. There is also a small table and light speed internet office at BB5. Walk 1 minute to 7-11. Takashimaya Nishiki Market is 5 minutes away.
Our hosts in Kyoto were absolutely amazing! The place was incredibly cozy and had everything we needed. The location was perfect, within walking distance to everything we wanted to see and do. If you're unsure about what to explore, the host is more than happy to give great recommendations. We truly enjoyed our time here in Kyoto. If you’re looking for a place to stay, I highly recommend booking this one, you won’t be disappointed with your Kyoto experience!

CENTRAL KYOTO CITY! Convenient Shijo Karasuma 5min
Joe’s place was in a convenient location. Close to a train station, bus stops, and restaurants. It was a great size for me, but would also be a great accommodation for 2. I got to meet Joe’s mom, she’s so sweet and personable! Made the check in experience easy. Would return to this place!

It was naturally soothed and soothed.Thank you!

Haruya Guesthouse
This is my first time in Japan, and meeting the lovely yumi and harufumi at haruya in these two days was the best experience of this trip. This house and the owner and everyone I met are different, kind, warm and sincere. You can feel it from their smiles. And I was very lucky to join their yoga activities, which allowed me to meet new friends. By the way, there is also the lovely lily. This is awesome! You can feel the attention to detail of Yumi and Farufumi in the house. You can hear the sound of the stream, the sound of the leaves swaying, and the sound of various insects chirping at night. It really slows down time. I will come back with my loved ones if I have the chance!

Very close to Kiyomizu Temple, have open-air bath,
A cozy comfortable refuge from the busy streets of Kyoto. Checkin was easy and the location is ideal - just a few steps to Kiyomizudera. In spite of the crowds heading up local streets, this house is set back and very quiet. A beautiful forest is visible out the back of the house, with a wonderful tub to enjoy the view. We also appreciated the immediate responsiveness of the hosts by text. Highly recommended.

Newly opened, beautiful forest view of Kyoto Higashiyama, within walking distance of Kiyomizu-dera Temple, 2LDK, 74 ㎡, entire building
Beds were really comfortable, well organised, easy to communicate with the host which is very friendly and responsive. In the middle of our stay, the host informed us that cleaning staff was coming at a given time to change our bed linens and towels, amongst other necessities. In this way we got the chance to explore Kyoto while they could do their job. I am very happy with my stay.

Kyoto Miyamacho Uno Villa JR Station, Thatchedokinosato
accommodation is spacious, clean and in a very peaceful area. the hosts were very helpful. they picked us up at the train station, gave us great tips about the area and insight in the Japanese farm life. they drove us to interesting areas outside of the village.

Your guide to Kyoto
Welcome to Kyoto
Kyoto is one of the most charming cities in the world. For more than a millennium — until 1868 — it was the imperial seat of Japan, and all that power was a magnet for opulence, artists and artisans, and religion. Today, the city remains at the heart of the country’s cultural traditions, with thousands of palaces, temples, and shrines, not to mention its famous geisha districts.
Wandering through Kyoto can mean stopping at every turn, delighted by the curve of a rooftop or the ancient timbers framing a shop. Despite 17 UNESCO World Heritage sites such as the gilded Kinkakuji (Gold Pavilion), and districts like Higashiyama, whose streets could double as the set for a historical epic, Kyoto is not a living museum. With more than 1.5 million residents, the city boasts countless cocktail bars, chic restaurants, and street-food stalls, and a thriving music scene.
The best time to stay in a vacation rental in Kyoto
If there’s a peak time to visit Kyoto, it may be late March through early May, when the temperatures are comfortable, the monsoons have yet to start, and the city seduces the eye with cherry blossoms (peak time: early April). Crisp, dry autumns also make for wonderful strolls around the city. Exploring Kyoto during the extremes of winter and summer will take a little more effort — and good rain gear. The heat and humidity peak June through August, when the temperatures stay in the 80s and 90s Fahrenheit and tropical rainstorms regularly sweep through the area. That doesn’t stop the city from turning out for the Gion Matsuri in mid-to-late July for parades, traditional dress, and street food. In winter, it rarely freezes or snows here, but the constant drizzle can make the cold feel colder. That said, the city entrances visitors even in the coldest months. During late December, thousands of paper lanterns line Arashiyama’s bridges and lanes, and in early January, New Year crowds throng many of the shrines.
Top things to do in Kyoto
Nishiki Market
Visiting this five-block-long covered food market in central Kyoto, which is open from midmorning to early evening, is a must for food lovers. Picture barrels of pickles and dried vegetables, display cases of exquisite wagashi (sweets), and heaps of frilly dried fish. You can snack on meat skewers or crackly senbei as you wander through the market, or pore over the shelves of cooking implements and jarred preserves, looking for gifts to bring home. Afterward, peek in at the nearby Tenmangu Shrine or wander over to the Gion, the city’s most famous geisha district.
Arashiyama
On the west side of Kyoto, just as the dense inner city gives way to the slopes of the surrounding mountains, this charming district thrums with tourists — with pockets of serenity nearby. Wander along the wide, shady paths that snake through the famous bamboo grove. Visit a host of temples, from the tiny thatch-roofed Gio-ji through the expansive Tenryu-ji, with its showstopper garden and majestic views of the mountain peaks. Spend a few hours at the Fukuda Art Museum admiring paintings from the Edo Period.
Philosopher’s Path
This mile-long path, located in the northern part of the Higashiyama district, leads between two of Kyoto’s best-known sites — Ginkakuji (the Silver Pavilion) and the neighborhood surrounding Nanzenji Temple — and the journey is just as rewarding as either destination. The paved walkway traces the route of a narrow canal, shaded by thousands of cherry trees, and offers plenty of reasons to detour in the form of temples, cafes, and boutiques.
