Cosy 2 bedroom cottage
The Cosy Cottage was absolutely perfect for our base to explore Donegal. It is very close to several beautiful spots and a short drive to many others. The cottage was very clean and had everything we needed. Donna and her family were wonderful hosts. I would rebook this cottage in the future without hesitation. Highly recommend!

Brooke cottage rental house
Such a lovely house. Very comfortable to stay and relax in. Great location. Surrounded by beautiful beaches. Keith was very helpful and at hand to help with anything. Would reccomend

Happy Sandy Feet·My Modern&Cosy ·
Beautiful home , we had no problems and will be back again .

Dooey Beach Retreat
Stunning location between beaches. House perfect for our needs. Well equipped kitchen. Lots of extra towels. Comfy sofa and beds. Great it was dog friendly. Very short walk from beaches and dunes. Nice welcome basket. Clear communication from Shaun. Great for a relaxing week away at the sea with family and dogs. Thanks Shaun.

Seascape Bliss·Coastal Retreat in Youghal`s heart
All good at Veronica's in Youghal. Photos very representive of the house. Veronica got back to me very quickly with my two queries.

Beach House
It’s hard to find fault with any aspect of our overall trip including accommodation, location warmth of reception given out by Frances/Yvonne. We would however make one recommendation for the shower in the lower Bathroom the floor of which is very slippy which poses a hazard to wrinkles like me it would benefit from a grab rail

Coastal Cottage on Wild Atlantic Way
We had an absolutely fantastic time in Enniscrone, in large part because of Sarah’s lovely property which was even better than advertised. The photos don’t do justice to how large the spaces are, ideal for families with a big open kitchen dining and living room area. The beach is literally a five minute walk away and there are cracking pubs and restaurants in town. Sarah is very helpful with any advice and quick to respond when we had questions. Would highly recommended this property to all!

Irish Sea Whispers - My Charming Costal Retreat
Veronica's accommodation was brilliant from start to finish. Messages and queries were responded to quickly and in a very helpful and friendly manner. The house itself is spotless, spacious, and well stocked with clean towels, linen, cleaning products and shampoo/shower gel etc. Couldn't recommend the host or the house highly enough. Will definitely return.
Ireland castles

The Coach House, Fortwilliam Estate.
A very beautiful location. So peaceful. Access to amazing grounds for walks with the dogs. Stunning property. Close to a lot of places to visit. Would definitely recommend this property.

Beautiful Castle Junior suite, 1st floor
What an absolute special place and host, Louise is simply amazing!! So many wonderful recommendations for the local areas. She really made our holiday so very special and we just can’t thank her and her family enough!! We can’t wait to return to Ireland again soon and we will definitely be staying here again!! THANK YOU, Louise & Family.

Charming 15th Century Castle
Comments from our stay (parents with adult kids): We loved it! Living history, Really freaking cool, Comfortable beds. Quite spacious. Cozy, Must have good knees! Neighbouring cows herded home in the evenings, A treat to watch birds from the battlements, (Metallic sounds referenced earlier likely are radiators) Easy communication and good instructions from hosts. State of the architecture 1400’s, updated to beautifully habitable in the 2000’s. Thank you for allowing us the share a slice of your local history. Each of us truly enjoyed staying here.

Killahara Castle - history, mystery agus welcomes
We had the best time ringing in the new year at Kilahara castle! It was such a unique and cool experience that we will all remember. Lorraine was extremely friendly with check in and accommodating when our coffee press broke. The history is incredible and each room has a unique story attached to it. It is a castle from the 1500s so there was dust and spiders. The stairs are steep as well but overall a wonderful, unique, and fun way to spend holiday!

Castle carcin
This was the most amazing stay! Words cannot describe the beauty of this place. Geraldine was the perfect welcoming host! We felt right at right home. The place was immaculate and it honestly felt like a fairytale! We also got dinner catered by Tina and everything was perfect and delicious! We decided to get the boat and so glad we did! David Scully was a great captain and the boat was peaceful to experience. Highly recommend!! Would absolutely visit again!!!!

Beautiful Restored 19th Century Gothic Church
Carmel’s place was absolutely amazing and a place to remember the rest of our lives. We highly recommend this stay. Carmel came to meet us and provided some history of the church and surrounding areas. She also gave recommendations for activities and local destinations. We will be sharing this listing with our friends that will be coming to Ireland.

Tubbrid Castle: Your 15th-Century Irish Castle
Amazing stay, probably the highlight of our 10 day family vacation through Ireland. Local people amazing, great host, absolutely one of a kind, once in a lifetime kind of experience!

Magical gothic 3 bedroom mini-castle.
Hard to describe how special Clonmellon Lodge is - the photos don’t do it justice. It’s a beautiful house - cosy and unique. The TV is hidden in the cabinet and rises up with a remote- very cool! The setting is very peaceful. The orangery is so warm and full of light. Being able to walk around the grounds of Killua Castle was fantastic. Thanks Lorena!

Pembroke Hall Guesthouse Double Deluxe Room
We had a brilliant stay with Hillary - the accommodation was beautiful, in a very peaceful area and close to the RDS for the gig we were attending! Hillary was an extremely responsive host and gave us great tips for parking and local spots to eat. The added bonus was the gorgeous great big bed! We will definitely be staying here again!

Herbert House, Muckross Road, Killarney, V93 RF64
Will stay here every time we’re back in Killarney! Such lush interior. The room was a lot larger than I expected and had everything I could’ve asked for. Was extremely clean too. Much needed stay after staying in some tiny coastal b&b’s.

Abbeyglen Castle Hotel Economy Room
I love the AbbeyGlen Castle. I’ve been lucky to stay here before and as always by the time it comes to leave, I don’t want to 😍 The room is perfect for solo travellers like myself. I was there to write & to get inspired & as always I left with endless words and so many stories. Thank you so much Ronan & Brian for being you & your fabulous staff 🇮🇪🙏☘️🇮🇪

Double/Twin at Doolin Inn, Center of Doolin
The Doolin in is the perfect spot to stay if you want to see the cliffs of Moher. Only a short drive to the cliffs, but you also get walk ability to all the great pubs in Doolin and to the pier which has a ferry to the Aryan Islands. The hotel itself is kept very nice and the breakfast is amazing. The hotel staff is top notch. Everyone we spoke with was extremely kind and welcoming. Highly recommend!

Bright spacious quaint and colourful triple room
Myself and two friend's planning a two night stay in Monaghan, hotel's booked out , someone suggested we try Airbnb, with some trepidation I browsed through the site and saw Lynster House it looked nice and we decided to book, after all it was only 2 nights. On arrival we were welcomed by Elizabeth and our first experience with Airbnb got off to a great start. Her house was beautiful, the beds were so comfy, the warm water in the shower just perfect, the breakfast each morning yummy. Went with Elizabeth's recommendation for restaurant's and bars in town for both nights all excellent choices. Elizabeth dropped us in to town both evenings and taxi back just 9euro. Elizabeth's talents are endless, her passion for Monaghan amazing, what an asset to her home town. I hope to use Airbnb again after this super first experience however my expectations and standards are now set very high!

Georgian Downtown Luxury,Áras de Staic Suite No.6
Everything was great - good contact, clean and comfortable accomadation right in the centre of town.

Hotel67 Mountain View (Adults only)
The hotel and grounds are beautiful. The only real complaint we had was that we were put in a room that looked directly out to an air conditioning unit and not so much the mountains. But we didn’t spend enough time in the room for that to really be a concern. The room and decor were unique and we loved the atmosphere.

Joyce's Lodge Quad Room (Inishowen, Co.Donegal)
We had a great time, impeccable accommodation, great location, friendly host. Good value for money.
Your guide to Ireland
Welcome to Ireland
For a small island on the fringes of western Europe, Ireland’s culture ripples far beyond its craggy shores. This is the storied home of many of history’s most celebrated poets, rock bands that conquered the charts, and, of course, the foamy stout poured on every continent. And yet despite this ubiquity, Ireland is so often misunderstood. Sure, it has castle ruins and stone cathedrals galore, but it’s anything but stuck in the past. For every beloved old pub and literary landmark in Dublin, you’ll find as many inventive restaurants putting a fresh spin on Irish cuisine and ground-breaking venues where a new generation redefines Irish creative identity.
Outside the capital, each of the Republic of Ireland’s four provinces — Leinster, Munster, Connacht, and Ulster — certainly deliver the pastoral landscapes along with plenty of surprises. The culinary city of Cork claims on-trend bars, food halls, and even a museum dedicated to butter. On the rugged Atlantic coast, the Cliffs of Moher won’t disappoint sightseers, but you can also skip the crowds and chase outdoor adventures in wild national parks such as Ballycroy and Killarney. The longer you spend on this rainy rock, the more you realize how lucky the Irish really are.
The best time to stay in a vacation rental in Ireland
Ireland is truthfully quite drizzly, especially in winter. But its climate is also mild year-round. In fact, you’re likely to read it in the local news whenever temperatures dip below freezing or exceed 80 degrees Fahrenheit (26 degrees Celsius). Summer brings the most pleasant weather and, of course, the most crowds, making it a more competitive time to book a house for rent. The peak months of July and August are the sunniest, warmest, and driest. It’s the time of year for outdoor festivals, including gatherings dedicated to the republic’s alternative music as well as its active Irish trad folk music scene. Spring and fall are generally quieter and more overcast, with the exception of St. Patrick’s Day in March, celebrated with lively parades across the country.
Top things to do in Ireland
Grafton Street
In Dublin’s city center, it’s easy to lose track of time wandering through the historic sites and museums, but don’t miss the action on the streets. Take a stroll along Grafton Street to visit local shops and the famous buskers known to perform here year-round. This pedestrian-only thoroughfare links St. Stephen’s Green to Trinity College. Its popularity means the street often gets crowded, though skip over a few blocks and you’ll find independent cafes and designer shops in areas like the Creative Quarter, emanating from Drury Street.
Wild Atlantic Way
This is arguably Ireland’s most photogenic road trip. From the cinematic landscapes of the Inishowen Peninsula south to colorful fishing ports in County Cork, the Wild Atlantic Way traces Ireland’s West Coast for 1,500 miles (2,414 km). Along the way, you’ll pass sea cliffs and coves; festive cities like Galway and Limerick; and beaches where cold-water surfers paddle out into the foamy waves. You could tackle it on one grand tour, but you’ll get a truer sense of the local scene when you slow your roll and focus on one segment at a time.
Rock of Cashel
Perched on top of a grassy hill and surrounded by the rolling pastures of the Golden Vale, the Rock of Cashel stands among Ireland’s most dramatic and significant architectural sites. This was once the seat of power for the Kings of Munster. Legends also say this is where Saint Patrick baptized King Aengus in 432 C.E. Come here to see the castle-like cluster of medieval structures, dig into Irish history, or simply admire the sweeping views of County Tipperary.
