Besides being a great Airbnb host, Sonam happens to be an outstanding and super safe driver. Highly recommended to not only stay, also use Sonam as driver too!

Zhuochen lodge/home garden lodge

VaishnaviRating, 5 stars74 months ago
This is a very spacious, clean space to spend in Paro. The hosts are hospitable though we didn't have much time to talk with them due to our busy schedules. The rooms are comfortable and the heater is good to have as it was cold for us. The view is also very beautiful from the rooms. The dinner was a bit disappointing - we had ordered for soup, paneer and rotis which took more than 1 hour to prepare only to find that the soup was a packet soup and paneer and roti were just about ok. The breakfast was nice though a bit expensive for the quantity served. The hosts were gracious to accompany us to the annual festival and let us be a part of it with them as our driver was unable to find parking. They patiently explained the significance of the festival and that helped a lot. They also were generous to drive us back to the lodge. We wish we had more time there. We would recommend at least 3 days stay if you want to experience the place properly.

Archery range to experience traditional game.

We loved our stay at this homestay. The location is the most beautiful surrounded with mountains everywhere. Dema and Thincho are excellent hosts, they helped us with everything that we needed. If you stay here, dont miss the hot stone bath, it will help you with pain and soreness after the trek to tigers nest. What we loved most was the secluded location of the place, it takes 12-13 minutes with taxi from airport to reach the place, hence it is super peaceful and quiet. There is a stream down the farmland, that is very beautiful for a walk or to sit and enjoy the calmness. I would definitely love to visit again. Thanks to Thincho, Dema and their daughter for their hospitality and kindness. đŸ‘đŸŒđŸ’›
The three-story traditional house features intricately carved wooden details and colorful paintings on the façade. Large windows allow natural light to fill the interior, while the roof showcases a wooden overhang. Local materials are visible in the surrounding area, adding to the authentic village atmosphere.

CHIMI LHAKHANG VILLAGE HOMESTAY

KashyapRating, 5 stars5 months ago
the village stay is right in the middle of Chimi lakhang village. the host welcomed us in their traditional Bhutanese culture. Food was prepared in authentic Bhutanese cusine. 100% homely food. we stayed in top floor it had 1.5 bathrooms (Not attached to room) which was really neat and clean, upto any good hotel standards. Traditional Bhutanese homes do not have the concept of attached bathrooms. the room was a cosy place, though small, it just felt home, clean and tidy. There are no cots in the room & that is the traditional Bhutanese way of sleeping on floor with a really comfortable matress. we had their home made local Arra wine and had a really great time till 11pm at night talking with the hosts in their front porch. it is a stay in Bhutanese Home and it is authentic to just that. they have all the required comforts you need. But if you are expecting a 3star hotel like stay, then you are in for a disappointment. if you want to experience Bhutanese living, this is it.!
The exterior of the villa is showcased, highlighting its distinct Bhutanese architectural style. Bright yellow walls and ornate wooden windows are complemented by intricate carvings. A spacious balcony is visible on the upper level, while a concrete area is surrounded by potted plants at the base.

Yangkey Villa

First of all: Tashi and his family are extremely nice and helpful people and communication before and after arrival was great. The place is in Bondey village - a bit before Paro town but very close to the airport. It is a Bed and Breakfast more than a traditional home stay and there is a huge living room for the guests. There are shops and a few basic restaurants around. All in all a great place to stay in the Paro Valley. Will definitely choose same place if I return.

We stayed as a couple for 1 night in Kinleys home and had a very pleasant stay. We had a warm welcoming with tea and snacks and later in the evening we were invited to partake in preparing dinner. We had a delicious dinner with fresh produce from the homestay. Kinley and his family were very kind and we had a wonderful stay.
