This half day tour is a combination of a moderate 2-hour hike (also a few inclines for 7 minutes) to the Twin Falls close up and a visit to the famous Snoqualmie Falls which we drive right up to. I will pick you up in downtown Seattle and drive eastward for about 30 minutes until we arrive at the trailhead. We will hike in old growth forest along Snoqualmie River to Twin Falls and the Upper Falls (1.3 miles), which is a beautiful cascade of waterfalls. After the hike we will drive through North Bend, where the diner from the popular tv show "Twin Peaks" is located and through the historic logging town. Snoqualmie. The locomotives of the time are still on the railroad tracks and the old depot from the year 1890 is in use till this day. We stop to view the Snoqualmie Falls of 270 feet - followed by driving along Borst Lake, where Mount Si is reflected in the often still lake - and then drive back to downtown Seattle.

Because of a 2021 ruling from the Seattle City Council that decriminalizes the cultivation of psychedelic fungi for “religious, spiritual, healing, or personal growth practices", I am able to offer this class completely legally. We'll talk about the evolutionary history of fungus, how different cultures have used and valued psychedelic experiences, and the entheogenic health movement. I leave time for questions, and do my best to customize this experience for you. At the end of this 2.5-3 hour class, you'll leave with your own custom mushroom grow, and instruction on how to start your own tiny psychedelic mushroom farm. We will leave the dock at Shilshole Bay Marina, motor out past the city’s famed Golden Gardens Park, watch for sea lions loafing on the Meadow Point buoy, and then set sail, heading West across Puget Sound toward the magnificent Olympic Mountains. Along the way we will watch for orcas, schools of Dahl’s porpoises, sea lions, harbor seals, jumping salmon, bald eagles, great blue herons, cormorants, diving gulls, and other wildlife. On the Sunset Cruise we will keep a careful watch as the sun sets behind the Olympic Mountains, for the resulting lightshow is something you will want to capture on camera. As the sun drops behind the well-named Mount Olympus and other peaks in the range, it often illuminates the feathery horizon clouds into glorious colors. During our chocolate factory tour, you will learn in detail how we craft chocolate starting with cocoa beans and ending with wrapped and sealed chocolate bars. We'll discuss: 1. How cacao is grown and where it comes from. 2. How we clean and sort our cocoa beans before production. 3. How we roast, grind, and conche our chocolate to maximize flavor and aroma. 4. And how we temper, mold, and wrap our chocolate bars. We'll also get to examine raw cocoa beans, taste some chocolate in production, and sample a variety of finished chocolate bars with unique flavor characteristics.

We’ll carve jewelers wax into one-of-a-kind creative commitment bands using your creative vision and my technical expertise. We’ll make bands that fit perfectly, look beautiful and represent YOU BOTH in a way that store bought bands never would. As a metalsmith with 12 years experience making fine jewelry inspired by the ocean, I’ll teach easy and fun techniques during our 2-hour private class. We’ll work in my airy West Seattle jewelry studio, stocked with all the tools of the trade and a sweeping view of downtown Seattle. I’ll translate your ring dreams into a wax version of your final metal ring. Do you have an engagement ring? We’ll custom carve your wax to form around it. Do you have diamonds or a heirloom gemstone? We’ll create a unique setting and add it. Are you unsure of the finish or texture you want? We’ll peruse samples of other gold, platinum or silver rings from our library to decide! Custom ideas are welcome—anything is possible. At the end, we’ll weigh your final waxes to determine the cost of your ring. Your wax weight translates to the amount of gold, platinum or silver needed to cast your rings. We will be stopping at 9 different artisanal vendors; learning about local production and tasting your way through the flavors of the Northwest.
