You will meet about 50-60 locals doing the printing work with the beautifully carved hand blocks. Your textile tour is the first hand introduction to block printing work and during this experience we will take you through the entire process starting from carving the hand blocks by the local artisan, block printing by the local printers using various blocks and colours, and the washing. By the end of your tour you will have a clear idea of the block printing technique and then you can try your hands upon a small piece of fabric (scarf) using the hand blocks and colours . You can carry this printed sample home as a beautiful souvenir of your own creativity. We are looking forward to hosting you for this unique experience. Fire holds deep significance as a divine force, the creative energy of the universe. It is also within each of us. The Fire Ritual harnesses the power of fire to cleanse and renew our spirits and connect us deeper with the universe around us. First, we can pick you up from anywhere in Jaipur. Then we will head to my peaceful backyard garden where we will perform the ceremony. You will be greeted with spiritual offerings such as a garland of flowers and sandalwood on your third eye. Then, we will serve traditional Indian snacks, sweets, and refreshments while we introduce ourselves and give some background and history of the ancient practice, plus share some interesting famous Hindu folklore. Then we will start the fire ritual by gathering around the fire pit. We will teach you some mantras, as well as their meanings, then we chant the mantras while offering different elements (rice, flowers, sugar, ghee, etc) to the fire, in order to cleanse our spirits and receive blessings from the gods. Finally, we can enjoy a typical Rajasthani meal and discuss the experience, as well as answer any questions you may have. The basic need of this experience is the zeal to capture the street activities and culture of Jodhpur into your camera shutters, be it a smartphone or a DSLR. Well, we all will meet at the Clock Tower, which is a renowned location of Jodhpur. We will head into the streets where the market starts to setup. You can capture any activity you see in front of you. Throughout the walk, I will share some facts and stories related to Marwar.
