House vacation rentals in Westerkwartier

Perfect place to stay if you enjoy the beautiful, quiet surroundings of the Beetsterzwaag forest. Great for a family of 4 with small children. There’s a playground across the street with an animal farm. The supermarket is within walking distance (10 min)., And you are literally around the corner from biking and walking trails. And, only 30 mins away from a city like Groningen or about 1h from the Wadden sea coast. The hosts are warm, friendly and very helpful.

Dewi's attention was excellent, always very attentive in case we needed anything. The beautiful place; my family and I had a very pleasant time in the park, pools, beach, lake, forest, etc. The other people also very quiet. The listing was informed about a farm but we did not get it anywhere, even on the map of the place it was also not, otherwise everything very nice. We'd like to come back again in the year.

We, four cycling and hiking friends, were very hospitably received by Margriet, who was still cleaning. The homemade apple pie was already ready. We were too early, but were allowed to put our groceries and suitcase inside. With your own bikes and a bike from Margriet via the junctions towards Appelscha. Nice lunch at Family's and a short walk to the beautiful lookout tower. What beautiful views! A visit to the Prison Museum in Veenhuizen ( also via the junction cycling route). Impressive, the story of the Colonies of Benevolence. To the Kofferbakbak market in Vledder, where we bought warm hand-knit wool socks. There also visited the Museum of False Art. Great.. Restaurant Posten Nordic in Frederiksoord with Scandinavian cuisine is also recommended. Pricey but definitely worth the money. Margriet, we enjoyed your cozy, comfortable house in a beautiful setting. Who knows, see you soon!

My wife and I more than "enjoyed" Marieke and Jaap's place! We have every intention of coming here again! It's just fanatical and for those who just want to get away from it all and switch off and unwind, just the right thing! Kind regards Farzad and Alina

The house has a lot to see in summer! An absolute dream with children! We didn't need to do much as we were busy all day with the pool and the many activities in the garden. There is a small cafe right around the corner and Groningen can also be reached in 10 minutes and offers many shopping opportunities. The house is very nicely decorated and there is a lot of space! Please take mosquito spray with you as it is right next to a field. We felt very comfortable ! Johann is very friendly and helpful. Our kids had so much fun and we as parents were able to relax well. In summer the house is a dream ! We would highly recommend it as a family. Thanks for having us as your guest 🧡

Had a wonderful week between the birdsong and the humming of the bees. A place to relax and unwind. The house was spacious and equipped with every comfort. As icing on the cake, spent another evening in a hot tub with a view of the setting sun in the meadow. Contact with the hostess was pleasant and went smoothly.

Lovely home with great light. Nice beds and lovely jacuzzi that we used several times a day. The surroundings are very quiet.

Staying in the artfully furnished little house was a very good experience. Thea and Gerard are great hosts, very friendly and relaxed, and easy to communicate with. The breakfast prepared by Thea was fantastic, the best we've had in a long time. Strongly recommended!

Enjoying the large garden, making friends with cat Willem, looking for an egg every day with the kids, baking mud pies, jumping on the trampoline and sitting by the fire on the covered terrace in the evening. For us 4 adults and 2 kids this was the perfect vacation. Many thanks to Joanne and her family for their hospitality, generosity and all the thoughtful details.

We had a very nice time with our 8 month old daughter in this well-equipped cottage. The high chair, toys and cot were a real plus for us. Yeltsje is very nice, we are sorry not to have met her. She really thought of everything! By the way, the bed was a little too soft for us, but that's different for everyone. However, it doesn't seem so nice to sleep in the extra room where the boiler hangs, because it starts and makes noise regularly. It might be nice to know who gets the single bed there.

Just VERY nice. Stylish, lot of Space, nicely decorated.... Big oak tablet made us feeling as at home. And the village is also nice, windmill in the backyard... We wish we had more time to spent there, but it was our "base camp" for Ameland expedition.

Definitely recommend this host and location. it couldn't have been better.

we had a fantastic stay at her wonder. the house itself is extremely comfortable and clean. beautifully and tastefully decorated with great little touches. the beds were comfortable and the location was exactly what we were hoping for: peaceful, walkable and with plenty of wildlife around. we will definitely be back!
