Bed and breakfast vacation rentals in Lothian

Katrina is a wonderful landlord who prepared plenty of drinks and bread for us, making it feel very homey! It's just a half-hour bus ride from the city center, and there's a supermarket right across the street, making the location very convenient. Thank you, Katrina! If I have the chance to visit Edinburgh again, I would definitely consider staying here!

We had a great stay at Sally’s. She was very welcoming and explained everything on arrival. We were then free to enjoy the accommodation in the knowledge that Sally was close by if needed. We enjoyed our trip to North Berwick would be very happy to come back in the future

We loved staying here, very easy entry but was down stairs in the cellar so was a tad slippy and dark. The room was absolutely beautiful, just like the pictures. Smelt amazing when you walked in and everything was spotlessly clean. The bed was so comfy and cozy, very nice and warm room perfect for December in Edinburgh! Bathroom was perfect too and we even had a little side room for our bag and coats off our bedroom which was nice to have things out the way. Great location next to the park and a very easy walk to town/ train station and bus links. Would 100% recommend this place to stay.

This location was incredibly convenient for public transport, with a bus stop right outside the entrance. There were plenty of local supermarkets nearby and the surroundings were lovely. The host( Catherine) was exceptionally kind and always ready to help. The room was spotless and well-equipped—even an EU-UK adapter was provided. Breakfast was great as well. I highly recommend this wonderful Airbnb to everyone ^_^

The perfect little cottage within walking distance to everything! And John was the perfect host! His entire family worked as a team to insure our stay was amazing. They communicated well, always had great recommendations, and provided everything we could possibly need. This cottage is so close to EVERYTHING! I can’t stress this enough. There’s a GREAT restaurant, quaint little shops, a bakery, a convenience store, local attractions, etc. literally across the street. And I’ll add, while the cottage is central to everything, just off the main road, it’s sooooo quiet. You can’t go wrong booking John’s place!

Wir haben uns bei Jane und John auf ihrer Farm sehr wohl gefühlt! Jane war super freundlich und sympathisch! Die Farm liegt auf einem idyllischen Hügel mit viel Natur rundherum, nicht weit von Aberfeldy, wo man alles findet, was man braucht. Wir würden auch wieder zu Besuch kommen! :)

I don’t even know where to begin! My stay was purely magical. I am so grateful to both Erin & B for letting me stay in their gorgeous flat while they were away. We had great communication and it was a breeze getting settled in. The bed was like a cloud and the room was so spacious and bright! The whole place was so clean, full of beautiful artwork and I felt right at home. I felt so safe and comfortable. The buses run close by which is great and there are plenty of shops nearby as well. I am so grateful for this space which made my Glasgow experience the best it could be. X

The whole place is spotless, the beds were very comfortable and everything was top quality. We enjoyed relaxing in the living room in front of the log burner. Sam is the perfect hostess, very warm and friendly, we felt welcome and at home straight away. We chose to have an evening meal which was delicious and restaurant quality. Thank you also for the very tasty homemade bakes! Our visit was all too short and we can't wait to return. Thank you again.

I had a very good stay at Heathpark House. Very interesting place. Chris and Meg are great hosts. Breakfasts were amazing. Will stay there again if I am again in that area.

I had the pleasure of staying for three nights at Jo and Steven's lovely home on my way to the Isle of Skye. From the moment I arrived, I was struck by the warmth and care they put into making their guests feel welcome. My room was impeccably clean, wonderfully cozy, and provided a haven of peace and quiet after long days of exploring. Jo and Steven have thoughtfully prepared a dedicated kitchen for guests, which was both convenient and well-equipped. Their beautiful garden was a delightful retreat, perfect for enjoying sun or the fresh evening air. The location itself is serene, safe, and ideally situated for visiting both Edinburgh and St Andrews. Steven kindly recommended some excellent restaurants and must-see attractions in the area, while Jo went above and beyond by providing a lovely selection of breakfast essentials, including fresh milk, bread, cereal, and fruit. Their hospitality was truly heartfelt and made my stay all the more special. Thank you, Jo and Steven.

We truly enjoyed staying here at the farm. Sheila was there to great us right when we pulled up and made checking in very simple. The property was gorgeous. The actual house was very spacious and she had breakfast and snacks available. We loved hearing all the animals on the farm (cows and sheep). It’s a little further out from town but private and peaceful. Would definitely recommend to get a traditional Scottish experience. Thank you Sheila!

Unfortunately Mary was called away to look after a sick relative on the day of our arrival but John Archie was a fantastic and welcoming host to us and our doggy. The house was beautifully clean and the bedding and towels immaculate. The bed and pillows were so comfortable! It was a nice quiet area but with easy access to all the amenities of South Queensferry. John Archie put on a delicious breakfast for us and was such good company that I felt like I’d made a friend by the time we left. A shame we didn’t get to meet Mary but I hope we can come back and will definitely want to visit John Archie and Mary again if we are ever in the area.

We had an amazing time at Fay’s yurt, both her and Jamie were super helpful and very friendly, they made us feel very welcome and explained everything to us on arrival while showing us around as well as giving us some tips of places to visit nearby. They were attentive and there to help us when we needed but also gave us privacy. The yurt itself is unreal, really clean and tidy with everything we needed inside and the log fire was great, made the place so cosy. The walled garden is absolutely beautiful and the 3 friendly goats were a real highlight for us, we went to see them every morning! The kitchen and bathroom areas were well stocked and clean, it was great to have access to them both and made our stay really comfortable. The surrounding areas are also stunning, a truly special place if you’re looking for somewhere quiet and relaxing to stay. It’s well situated for visiting the places we wanted to go. We would love to go back, thank you for having us! ❤️

What a beautiful home, in a beautiful location. Pat was an amazing host, was very responsive to my questions and went over and beyond to make me feel welcome. The dogs were extremely well natured and a delight to be around. I had a very relaxing weekend, with great food and company. So thanks again.

Our stay at Dominic and Elaine's home was nothing short of perfect. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with open arms by the kindest and friendliest hosts we’ve ever met. The house itself is absolutely stunning—every corner beautifully designed and immaculately kept. We were constantly in awe of the space and comfort. Another wonderful stay at South Kinaldy House with Sheila and Thomas! Sheila consistently goes above and beyond to accommodate her guests, making us feeling more like friends vs. guests. Dropping off a daughter at uni while traveling from afar can be quite tough - but staying in Sheila & Thomas’ lovely home makes things so much easier. Her friendly demeanor, beautiful home and gardens, and willingness to help us in many different ways truly sets this stay apart. Thank you Sheila & Thomas for making our stay in St. Andrews delightful yet again!

It is no exaggeration when I say Jessica IS THE BEST HOST you'll find in Edinburgh. She fed me when the cafes were closed, helped me navigate the city and very kindly even helped me get my forgotten belongings back. Go ahead and book this place without a single more thought. The house is absolutely incredible, full of art and easily one of the best b&bs I've stayed at! ✨

Laura and Castlecroft B&B were a welcomed rest after a long travel day. Laura greeted us and gave us a quick tour and let us get settled in after arriving later than expected. She pointed us to a wonderful dinner spot and the next morning we had the best breakfast! We also came with our toddler and Laura made her feel right at home. Highly recommend Laura and the Castlecroft for a stay!
