Vacation rentals with lake access in Belize

My girlfriend and I stayed at Kathie’s place and it was an absolutely amazing experience. The journey to get there is bumpy, but is truly awesome to see. As the other reviews have stated, you definitely want at LEAST an SUV - ours was front wheel drive and proved to be resilient. The locals were all so welcoming and inviting to their culture. We decided to do the ATM cave tours the first day and did not regret it one bit. Kathie recommend to do the pontoon tour on the macal river and it did not disappoint! Would highly recommend doing this with Laz and his team - the lunch on the boat was amazing and the scenery was incredibly beautiful. Additionally, Kathie was extremely responsive and helpful when needed. Millie and Ms. Nora and her daughter were all excellent and cooked an amazing dinner upon arrival - the dinner was perfect after a long day of traveling. If you are looking for an authentic jungle experience this is your place to be.

Our family enjoyed our stay. 5 stars all around. The home exceeded all expectations. First of all it was so clean, not just superficial clean but clean clean. The views from the kitchen, dining room, veranda, upstairs terrace and pool area are breathtaking. The sunsets were magical, we watched them from the pool. We will definitely choose this home on future visits.

I loved staying at the eco lodge, being in nature without close neighbors, looking at birds and iguanas, and listening to the sound of nature, while being safe in the cabin at night. David shared shared local knowledge and history about the région. He is planting trees on the property and, it seems, doing his part to help maintain a healthy habitat for the monkeys (they need lots of trees and a wide variété of them). It felt very special to hear howler monkeys (they are most active early in the morning and before sunset). Though I did not spot any on the property, I biked to the nearby monkey sanctuary in the late afternoon and saw them there. I did not have a car and David picked me up from the airport (there is free wi-fi in the airport, which is helpful). I felt safe as a woman traveling alone and enjoyed a walk on the country side next the river. Though the pond is small, I ventured on the kayak and it was worth it. I got to approach an iguana and a big friendly rodent.

It will be a story with happy ending!! Reservation was pretty smooth and all directions were easy to follow. Unfortunately baby crib that was expected to be ready, appeared as not available. I wasn’t happy about mistake on their website but as it was 9 pm when we checked in, we just let it go and shared disappointment with owner. 30 mins later someone knocked to our door and owner’s son borrowed baby crib somehow for us!! We were very happy!! Next day breakfast was in their hotel 3 km from our stay. Staff helped to park the car, owner and manager came down to apologize and they were super great host during breakfast for everyone not only us!! Fantastic people and place - highly recommended!

We highly recommend staying here. Rachael’s place was clean & very comfortable. Rachael & Bruce are amazing hosts. when you stay here you need to order food. It is so good. Rachael & Bruce are friendly and will help you with whatever you need. Highly recommend the taste of Belize tour. Definitely go hungry. We had an amazing time learning the history of Belize City Bruce & Rachael are very knowledge about the history of their country. Their place is in a residential area and is very peaceful. We stayed a week here and did not want to leave. I highly recommend you do tours with them as they take care of you. If you want the freedom to drive around the country then I recommend renting a car. They can help with a good company. Bruce took us to a grocery store, ATM and restaurant before we checked in. You are fine with using US $ and they will give you change in Belize $. Bruce and Rachael have become friends. We look forward to our return trip & staying with this amazing family again.

Godfrey communicated with us in advance and arranged pick up from airport to a restaurant (he had a few recommendations) and then being brought from restaurant to the cabin He was very friendly and welcoming The cabin was clean , nice wooden floors, comfortable bed , quite, felt nice with A/C We were able to heat up our breakfast in Mwave and made black coffee

Michelle and Krystal are very kind and welcoming hosts. The AirBnB listing was quite comfortable felt and just like home from day 1. I’m grateful for my great experience in Belize thanks to them!

My short stay with Luz & Dale was excellent! Very clean apartment with all essentials and a beautiful little patio area in the backyard. But what stands out most is their warm welcome and hospitality. They were so helpful! I will definitely come back! I would highly recommend staying here. You won’t be disappointed!

We loved everything about this place! The house is beautiful and the lagoon is a perfect backdrop for morning coffee. We enjoyed fishing in the mangroves from the kayak. The resort offers wonderful amenities. We utilized the pool and gym every day and give the Placenia resort staff & security 5 stars. Casi was an incredibly responsive host. She quickly responded to any questions and provided great insight on how to make the most of our time in Belize. This won’t be our last visit!
